Swatches: Where have I been?!

It's been way too long since I've checked in at my go-to budget-friendly fabric source... http://www.fabric.com/.

So many beautiful fabrics, including a fabulous offering of Duralee prints!

My favorite find of the moment - in three lovely colorways...

I like this whimsical and dynamic take on a geometric print that would make great drapes.

Perfect for a nautical nursery or beach home.

A few other fun finds...

Mantel update

Thanks for the feedback on my mantel-scape post.  I finally got around to playing around a little more.

Before (simple and uncluttered for summer):

Image

After 1 (incorporating my grandmother's painting and some Fall elements - this is the version I blogged about - seeking advice on how to achieve a better balance):

Image

After 2 (with a wheat-filled vase on the left side, pinecones to fill in the voids, and a wonderfully lumpy pumpkin we found at the pumpkin patch):

Image

After 3 (testing out a leaf arrangement and scattered leaves):

Image

After 4 (finally, settled on the wheat arrangement and scattered leaves):

And a few gratuitous detail shots at the various stages:

More etsy pillow love: lopamudra home decor

I found this pillow on etsy by LopaMudra when searching for the Brooklyn living room design plan that I recently posted.  I can't get over these great patterns and the fantastic beadwork offered at such reasonable prices!

Around town

During our gorgeous fall weekend, I took my four year old on a double-decker bus tour around town. She has been talking about this for ages, and we had a great day together! A few snapshots of our beautiful capitol...

Out and about: Jonathan Adler boutique

Last weekend in NYC, I had a chance to check out Jonathan Adler's Madison Avenue boutique.  I've always loved his "happy chic" style (and, oh my - check out his line at HSN - there are some serious clearance deals right now, like an 32-piece dinnerware set for under $30!).  Some snapshots from my tour around the shop.

etsy spotlight: sukan pillows

In my search for pillows for the design plan in yesterday's post, I stumbled upon etsy seller, sukan handmade design.  Wow - what a great resource for beautiful, unique pillows that could really give a room an eclectic/collected feel!  Check out some of my favorites (of course, starting with the pillow I selected for the design plan)...
