Q's Spring Recital

Image

Quincy did it again. She impressed us with the tumbling skills that she learned this year.
She does such a great job and she is so fun to watch! The recital was at the new Corner Canyon High School in Draper. G-ma and G-pa met us at The Training Table before to get some cheese fries for good luck :)  Way to go Quincy! Super awesome connected front walkovers!

Tumbling and Trombones

Image

Tis the season for concerts and recitals. Tonight was Quincy and Sambo's turn to shine.
First was Q's tumbling recital. She did so good showing off her skills and we had so much fun watching her perform.  She is so dang cute in that leotard!

As soon as it was over we had to head straight to Sam's school for his band concert.  He chose the trombone as his instrument of choice.  No doubt it was because that is what his Dad played in school.
Sambo did his part well and we were proud of him.  Not bad for a first timer!

Tumbling

Last month Quincy performed in her Spring tumbling recital and did such a great job!
It's so fun to watch her cute round body be so flexible and strong!  She doesn't get one bit nervous and just goes out and does her routine.  So so cute!

We met Grandma, Aunt Heidi, and the cousins at Hires {one of our faves} before and then they came to cheer her on:

After the recital, the weather was perfect temperature so the kids wanted to play around on the grass.  They had a ball!

Spongebob and a haircut

Somebody got a new hair-do!  Isn't it adorable?

Image

I have been wanting to chop her hair for a long time, but thanks to Rapunzel in "Tangled," she has wanted very long hair.  The trouble is, she doesn't have long, thick hair.  She was blessed with fine hair that that doesn't grow well.  Of course she doesn't know that.  In fact, she believed her hair was getting really long.  While I love to braid, twist, and pull her hair up in pony tails and pig tails, I also know that her hair will grow back even better if I keep it short for awhile.  So,  I took her to get a haircut.  I'm doing her a favor for later, right?  I didn't force her, I just asked her about once/month if she was ready to get a haircut.  Then last month, she answered yes!

I love short cuts on little girls.  I really do.  Millie's hair was short at this age too.

Curling her short hair is very easy quick and I love her natural highlights:

And just for fun, here is her picture from tumbling (pre-haircut).  Those splits are impressive!

On a different note, I found these little drawings all over the house the other day.  Apart, they didn't look like much.  Just scribbles.  But once I put them together, I discovered a masterpiece collection of Spongebob Squarepants characters!  Is it a bad thing that my 6 year old daughter loves Spongebob?

December Doings Part 2: Quincy's Recital

Image

We had the pleasure of watching Quincy tumble at her Christmas recital a couple of weeks ago!  We started off the night with a yummy dinner at one of our favorite places...Hires.  Good thing she had some rootbeer to give her extra pep for her performance!
She did a great job and she had so much fun performing in her new leotard with fancy hair and make-up!  She normally isn't very girlie so I was surprised when she asked for makeup :)
The very next day she passed off her front walk-over.  It's hard to believe that one year ago she could barely do 1 sit-up!  She is getting very strong.
Way to go Quincy!

Here, she is picking a wedgie out of her bum during her performance!  Love it!  And love that belly!
