Sound cheesy? Well its Adam's new radio show! Yes, Adam goes live on the radio, starting Tomorrow (Tuesday) night. Crazy stuff huh? Anyway, for any of you locals that want to check him out tune into AM station 1100 at 7:30 pm Tuesday (Website here) . He'll be on for several weeks promoting insurance, finance and other investment tools.
The title is pretty corny, but actually pretty clever and catchy. Adam's boss came up with it and it just makes me giggle when I hear it. HA!

Final Fondant Cake!
OK, not my final cake I'll ever make, but the finally cake for my Wilton Fondant Class. This class was so fun and I learned so many tricks and tips.
Since we had been eating way too much cake, I took it to work where it got gobbled up, some people even said it was the best cake they ever ate.... while I highly doubt that it was still nice to hear! Who would have thought you could add a few extra ingredients to a normal box cake mix and make it so much better! The real shocker was how many people ate and actually LIKED the Fondant. Sick. It was just the Wilton stuff and I told people that didn't have to eat it, but they did anyway. One of my coworkers even ate one of the dried up gum past flowers. Some people will eat anything!

Kitchen appliance, re-defined.......
Well sort of.... Have you ever owned something and LOVED it only to find out after a long time and many uses that it was EVEN BETTER than you had originally thought? So goes the story of the Bosch Food Processor Plus....
When Adam and I got married, we started combining our kitchen items, and well, obviously I had much much more, but what he had was a Bosch Food Processor. Now I also had a food processor, but it wasn't a Bosch, so I got rid of it and promptly began to use the Bosch. Well this Bosch is sweet, it has a Blender (which is the only thing Adam had ever used it for prior), it also has a juicer attachment and of course the traditional food processing accessories. See all the fun stuff?

This isn't my exact model, but its pretty close. I also have a Kitchenaid which I LOVE as well. As I recently purchased our wheat grinder, I've made bread a few times, but most of the recipes make 2 or more loaves, and my Kitchenaid tends to overheat when kneading multiple loaves. Well, I was talking to my soon to be Sister in Law Julie this weekend and she told me all I needed to do was probably add the bowl to the processor in order to use it as a mixer.
Well, naturally I was stoked and the next day started searching the Internet for any info on my machine I could find and what I could add to it (Adam doesn't have the manual, or I just can't find it). I couldn't find much (this model isn't made anymore), but finally came across the user manual and guess what?! This machine already came with a dough hook! I just didn't know it when I first looked at it (doesn't resemble the Kitchenaid hook). So I am completely ecstatic, but at the same time mystified that I have been using this machine for over a year without knowing its full potential. I tested it out tonight and it kneaded a 3 loaf recipe just great! No over heating or anything! WOOHOO!!!!! Don't worry, the Kitchenaid still holds a prized spot on my kitchen counter and will continue to be highly used... just not for multiple loaves of bread!

Rachel's Getting Married!
And last week she had her bridal shower. I may have been the only one with a camera, so I thought I would post for those of you who might have missed it, and so Rachel can have some pictures (sorry they aren't great Rachel!)
Lots of Friends and Family!

Lots of Friends and Family!
And just so I can be selfish for a moment, I got to make all the desserts. It was a lot of fun. It was fun to think of all the different treats I could do around Rachel's wedding colors, White, Green and Black:
The Cupcakes were chocolate coconut with coconut butter cream frosting and Zucchini Pistachio with Lime Cream Cheese Frosting. The cookies are Shortbread Cookies (recipe from Pioneer Woman); I had never made shortbread cookies before but they were sooo yummy! And only 4 ingredients, how easy is that? I did a ring of cream cheese frosting and topped with a Kiwi, I loved how Kiwi cover all three colors!
These cookies are Chocolate Cookies with Mint Chips, and how could I not make Oreo Balls! MMMM!!!!
I also made the cupcake tower, the other serving trays and the cupcake wrappers. So FUN!

Fun at the Depot!
Dental Depot that is!
First off, no one judge us that we've been here for a year and have finally just gone to the dentist... I don't want to hear about it.... We are now good OK?
Secondly, I just want to know why there wasn't a place like this when I was a kid! I have never been necessarily afraid of the dentist and as an Adult, actually enjoyed the experience - mostly because of the joy of having clean teeth after leaving. And I have had my share of dental issues - mostly revolving around my two center teeth (lets see it all started with a mean dentist who made me wear silver caps during my tender middle school years and into high school, all because he didn't want to put on permanent one and then have to have a root canal... well guess what after he finally put them on, I had to have one five years later anyway! And now I have to wear a mouth guard after my most recent replacement of the two teeth, otherwise I have horrible mouth pain... I have many more I could mention, but that's enough for now).
Moving on, soon after we moved here and were driving around the area, we drove past a brand new dental office aptly named "Dental Depot" with a big train out front. Adam immediately indicated he would go to the dentist if we could go there. Well I finally was able to figure out our insurance and saw they were on the list, so I figured what the heck!
Last week was our appointments, Adam's was first and when he came back home to report, I've never seen someone so excited about there trip to the dentist! There are trains running through the whole office and the inside looks like a depot! There are fun old black and white train pictures on the walls and of course it all started with this fun guy out front (not the dentist, the train... sorry don't have my own picture, so I stole this from the newspaper)

When I went for my appointment, they also gave me a t shirt and it was certainly fun having the trains go through the office and even in the rooms. My dad would LOVE this place and he HATES the dentist. Seriously, why wasn't this around when I was little... As I left that day I saw a mom and her son getting out of the car ready to go in. She let the boy jump on the train and ring the bell and he was having so much fun...and I though to myself, I am definitely bringing my children here some day.
