/I FINALLY DID IT
Yes, i finally got around and bought my first Leica lens… The “Summicron 35mm f2 ASPH”. Leica lenses are known to be the best in the class and i have to say that this lens really is something else. It’s extremely well built, the sharpness wide open is the best i’ve ever seen and the colors are nice and true.
Here is an example of the colors this little masterpiece is capable of delivering. (.dng straight out of camera, no post, shot wide open @ f2)
And here’s another example of the colors. This shot was taken on a real cloudy evening. In my eyes the colors are much more realistic then what i’ve got from all my other lenses straight out of camera. (.dng straight out of camera, no post, shot wide open @ f2)
last but not least we have the bokeh (out of focus blur) This lens has maybe the best looking bokeh i’ve ever seen!! It’s creamy and soft with no sign of ghosting, even in the highlights. This was just some boring “test-shots” i’ll post some real world pictures later this week so you all can see how this lens looks when it’s used for normal work. (B/W street photography in my case)
/BACK ON THE STREETS
The summer holiday is over and Im now back in Oslo. I had a fantastic vacation in Indonesia but now Im back…
I didn’t bring my leica to Indo so it felt like meeting an old friend when i picked up the M8 and went for a walk the other day.

/DARK CLOUDS
Dark clouds have moved in over the city. On friday July 22 Anders Behring Breivik changed Oslo forever… He placed a bomb in the city center that killed 8 people and later drove out to the island of Utøya and killed another 69.
Oslo in not and will never be the same after this horrible act. There are not words that can explain how people are feeling (myself included). I’ve talked to a lot of people that where close when the bomb went off and their stories are far from pleasant.
Considering the damages caused by the bomb it still amazes me that “only” 8 people lost their lives in Oslo city, but thats still a big number when you thing of the size of the city…
The city of Oslo is now filled with flowers to honor those who lost their lives, this ocean of flowers right outside of the church on Stortorvet here in the city really made me realize the impact of this horrible hate-crime… I cannot think of another time when i have felt luckier to be alive…

Got flare? …Well i do! It’s a new and really cool little app for mac that lets you bring some “flare” to your images. It’s a real simple interface with one-click presets or you can create your own look from scratch. It’s not a software you’ll use on a regular basis but can be quite cool at times. You’ll find more about flare here

/PARIS
Yes, I’m now back from four hectic but fantastic days in Paris. What a fantastic place! I’ve been there 3 times before and i don’t think I’m ever gonna get bored of that city… The people, the food, the wine… Well, everything! And as a street photographer I think this is about as close to heaven as you’ll ever get!
It just feels like the whole city is filled up with interesting characters that stand out from the crowds.
Every street is full of life and character and it almost feels leek there’s so much to shoot that you get lost… Maybe that’s because it all is so different from the somewhat slow pace here in Oslo?
Anyway, Paris is a city that always will be close to my heart…
