Our Adventures Last Weekend

Note to viewer: The pictures are completely out of order.
Please find the caption to the respective picture below it.

Note to self: Load pictures in reverse order.
After moving four pictures to the beginning, you gave up on chronological order.

I know we all lead busy lives so I am a big fan of pictures on blogs. Last weekend, our family friend Kathie visited from Jacksonville, Florida (where I was born and raised until high school). We decided to show her Utah and all its beauty. Enjoy the shots below because we had a great time and the sights were actually that beautiful!

Just one of the hundreds of photos from Bryce.

The entrance to Bryce actually had a tripod stand to get a group shot. Impressive.

We thought there should be at least one picture in our camera with me.

Since this is often how I look.

A Play Day

Image
I do not care that we played with every toy in the house. I do not care that I could not see my carpet in some spots.
I was gone for five days. Monday was a play day.

The Offspring

Image

Dexter in the middle and Noodles on the front right are almost 45.  They have been rocking for almost 25 years.  As Tanya would say, 'That's hot.'

Almost six years ago, Sean and I went on our first date to the Offspring concert in downtown Salt Lake.  The nightclub that hosted the alternative rock group has since burned down, but no worries our relationship is still going strong.  In March, we learned they were touring again with no stops in SLC but making a stop in Vegas.  It was simple.  The tickets went on-sale we bought two.  Then almost three weeks later, a local radio station announced their summer rock festival with the Offspring head lining it.  The SLC concert was scheduled on Friday with the Vegas show scheduled on Saturday.  It was simple, again.  The tickets went on-sale we bought two…thinking we could sell the Vegas tickets.

The classic holding-the-camera shot after the show.  Just look at those smiles.

Fast forward to Thursday before the show, we still have two sets of Offspring tickets.  Luckily, we sold the SLC tickets in record time (like 6 hours after posting on craigslist) and ended up breaking up even.  So Saturday afternoon, we cruised down to Vegas to attend the Offspring show in the Peal Theater at the Palms.  AMAZING venue, AMAZING acoustics, AMAZING band.  Our less-than-24-hours trip was …um, amazing.

The next morning, before heading home, we dined at Paris’ Mon Ami Gabi.  We were looking for something new and different for breakfast, so this french bistro was perfect.  Once you have seen our plates, you may want to wipe the drool off the screen.

Anyone who knows Sean knows he did not eat those tomatoes.  Anyone who knows me knows that I gobbled them up.

My berries-and-cream crepes.  Yes, it was a divine experience.

In case you were worried about Gavin, he was playing with Grandma Forbes the whole time at home.
