Me and My Boys

Did you notice the screwdriver about to bore into my son's ear? Only from a boy.

Just One

It does not matter how many pictures I take, it takes just one to melt my heart.

A Sublime Afternoon

We attempted to make the bed for our next guest this weekend.
We got slightly side-tracked and never did make the bed.
We even had to wake brother to join the fun.
We had a sublime afternoon.

Paynes Prairie

After we rested from Disney, we took a field trip to nearby Paynes Prairie.
Image
We were on the hunt for the UF's mascot in the wild.
Image
While respectively giving them their distance, of course.
Image
Some were found up close.
Image
Some were found further way.
Image
Never before had we seen an alligator and a bison in the wild together.
The alligator is to the left sunning and the bison is to the right partly hid by prairie grass.
Image
The impressive trees created a beautiful backdrop.
Image

And our skin soaked up the sun's glorious rays.
Image
We searched for wildlife on the viewing platform.
Image
But sometimes the wildlife was well hidden.
Image
And sometimes it was almost too close for comfort.
Image
Regardless, it was a beautiful day filled with sights and family.
Image
We heard Paynes Prairie looks quite different in the spring.
Image
Looks like we get to take another field trip soon, but sadly not with them.
Image
They are back in Utah now without the alligators, and we miss them dearly.
Thanks for coming to visit, play, laugh, and stay with us.

Look's Who Walking!

Sleeping Beauty

This babe will turn one in six weeks! Oh my heck, I love this child!
Image

I adore everything about this photo. I wish I could say this was straight out of the camera, but I cannot tell a lie. I love the sun flare (props to my teacher Lesley), the coloring, Kortney's expression, and my sweet, sleeping babe. Truly a moment preserved.

Miscellaneous Magic Kingdom

Our boys never touched the payment the day we went to Magic Kingdom for they spent most the day in Chase and Kortney's arms. In fact, we probably could have left the stroller at home. And true to form, there was plenty of magic that day we visited. Other than the temperatures, we had very few waits and even fewer sour moods. Here was some of the remaining evidence to prove it. Some shots compliments of Kortney again.

On the bus to start our day.

Up high and loving it.
Image
Sadly the castle is in focus and not them, but it shows the loving relationship Sean has with our sons.

True story: I got rejected by a woman whom I asked to take a group shot of us. Luckily a sweet mother watching this scene unfold offered moments later to take the shot.

And now for the close up.

Uncle Chase and Gavin

Image
Gavin just adores Uncle Chase and visa versa. Gavin pretends to call him on the phone (a.k.a my 2nd generation ipod) all the time and even gets to call his busy uncle occasionally. So naturally, Gavin was very excited for him to visit. Good thing his one and only uncle is so great!

The Haunted Mansion

We got stuck midway through the Haunted Mansion in the middle of darkness and ghosts. You can imagine how delighted our children were, and yet they did better than we would have guessed. Here were a couple shots courtesy of Kortney again.

Every time we exit this ride, Gavin always reminds us he was not scared.
This face might prove otherwise.

it's a small world

We scored the front row in our boat on 'it's a small world.'
The music was the same, the dolls were same, and yet the view was so different.

The Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm

Mickey's Toontown Fair will be closing in February to make way for a massive Fantasyland expansion. This ride is also one of the very few roller coasters that Gavin qualifies for height. Thus we had to ride the Barnstormer at least one more time!
