Christmas 2009

Wow, Ian's birthday was my last post in JULY! I just can't keep up. Well we had a good Christmas at the Kiilsgaards. The boys are still so excited about everything. The boys and I made cookies together just for Santa we had some food for the reindeer (that was a cool idea that one of our friends did as an activity for her daughter's birthday so THANKS MONICA!). One of the dogs actually got into the cookies after the kids were put to bed which was sad but probably better for Santa's waist line! The kids got up at about 8:00 and it was like a hurricane. We had everything opened in about 10 minutes. Then on to our traditional Christmas breakfast of monkey bread. Then I don't think we saw the kids for about 2 days. The spent so much time playing the new wii games. It was a good time and I hope everyone else had a great one as well!

Before we opened anything we had to take a picture

Not sure why Owen wanted a wrestling ring, we don't watch wrestling but that is what he wanted so that is what he got.Image

Ian got leggo star wars for the wii and still loves it.

We found foam swords and the rule is "we hit swords not brothers"! They have already been taken away a couple of different times. Maybe these weren't such a good idea :)

Happy Birthday Ian

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IAN
Image

Yesterday my baby boy turned 4 years old. He had a great day full of partying. We ended up doing two birthday parties for him. One at daycare with all his friends there and then one at the house with most of our family and friends. He had an AWESOME day and by the end of it we were all so exhausted I wish we could have taken today off to just sleep and be lazy.

The Snuggle Bug party was great fun.
We opened presents

I got cool tools, and much more.

What are the marshmallows for?
Image
AAHHH, the marshmallows are for the marshmallow gun, COOL!

We ate Cake

For those of you who don't know your ninja turtles that is Raphael.

Then we had to get in the hallway because the tornado sirens went off!

Then we had a cookout and swim party at home. Since it had been storming it was surprisingly cold but all the kids swam anyway. The high was barely 80, IN JULY! CRAZY Funny enough none of the parents got in the water to play with the kids. Ian had lots of fun with his friends.

No one felt like getting dressed to comein and do presents and cake.

He got a cool shark towel, and put it on and snuggled daddy. Maybe he should have put some clothes on :)

Summer Fun

Okay, so it has been a while since I have posted a blog. I figured it was about time. We have just been enjoying the new house so much. This is my first experience having a gas stove and I LOVE IT! It is also great to have a room upstairs that the kids can go play or watch cartoons. I think we finally have the room we need and I can see us staying in this house for a LONG time. Hopefully we will be as happy with the school as we are with the house. Guess we'll figure that out in August :) Of course the kids absolutely love the pool. They swim pretty much every day. I think if Ian could grow gills he would live under the water. It is so great to have kids who aren't afraid of the water. I have started teaching swim lessons again to a few of my friends kids and it just amazes me when they don't want to go under water or can barely put their face in. I know it is a completely normal fear for smaller kids. I guess I had just forgotten what it was like. Having kids with no fear of the water is great, but is also incredibly scary at times. So here are some pics of my fish :) enjoy!

Wye Mountain

Our family has never been up to Wye mountain to take pictures and see all the daffodils. Well this year we went and we took some pretty cute pictures if I must say so myself. So I felt as
though I needed to share them.

Christmas in the rent house

Okay, so I'm a little behind! But this was our first, and hopefully ONLY Christmas in the rent house. We had a pretty good time. Our tree was pretty small but we made it work. The kids had plenty of stuff to open and got a lot of the things on there almost endless Chrismas lists. We opened everything in our new pajamas and then we made our traditional breakfast of monkey bread, YUM! Then we had a wonderful day at home playing with all of our new toys. I love getting to spend this day with our little family. We made it a tradition once the kids were born that Christmas day was for us and it has worked really well so far.
