Trevon's 11th Birthday Party

We celebrated Trevon's birthday on his birthday in Australia this year.  But later after we got home he celebrated with friends at a party at a favourite trampoline park.  He and his friends had great, jumping fun on the trampolines followed by a pizza lunch and a donut tower cake!

Australia Part 4 of 4: Port Douglas

To finish off our grand Australian adventure we spent 5 nights in the tropical north of Queensland.  We flew into Cairns and drove to Port Douglas where we'd spend the rest of our trip enjoying the town, exploring the Great Barrier Reef and visiting the Daintree Rainforest.

Image

First up was a helicopter tour of the Great Barrier Reef.  Amazing to see it from the air at such close range.  We could see rays and turtles in the water from above.

We took a boat excursion to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef.  It was an amazing experience we will never forget.  I did my best to fend off seasickness, but it was worth the challenge for this once in a lifetime experience.

On our final day in Australia we took a guided Aboriginal walk through the Daintree Rainforest.  It was pretty amazing.  I loved the feeling of the rainforest.

Hooray for a long stopover in one of our favourite cites on our way back to London.  Visiting Singapore and getting to visit with some of our favourite friends there for the evening was just such a treat!

Australia Part 3 of 4: Australia Zoo

Dallin was the biggest Steve Irwin fan there ever was.  When Steve died in 2006 it was a very sad time in our house.  Dallin had most of Steve's Croc Hunter shows memorised.  He would act them out with incredible realism.  He simply couldn't get enough of Steve Irwin.  So even all these years later it was no question that we would make the trip to visit Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo.  No matter the hassle involved in getting there, we were going to go.  We had to add an extra flight to Brisbane to make this happen, but it was worth it!  We spent two wonderful nights in the mountains of Queensland and one unforgettable day at the Australia Zoo.

I had booked a special koala experience just for our family.  The kids loved getting to hold the koala.  Perfectly Australian!
