Sword Fights Are Fun!

The teenage cousins grabbed swords and went outside to play in the nice weather yesterday.  It was fun to watch them attack each other for fun!

9 + 1 Birthday Celebration!

Here's our birthday girl.  She designed the cake and Owen decorated it for her.  The words around the bottom say, "Happy Birthday" and the piece on the top says, "9+1".

Elena wore a newly knit "crown" while opening her gifts. These are tools to use with her new clay.

And so school begins...

Alia on the first day of school.  No seminary yet.

 Elena on the first day.  She's our earliest (non-seminary) bus rider.

 Tanner on the first day.  He's up early enough to sometimes get his clarinet practiced before school!

Hair Today...

My Alia decided that her hair was getting too heavy and that it was time for a hair cut.

So, after three years (or so) of letting her hair grow, she got it cut.

Isn't she beautiful!? 

 That "thing" on the counter in front of her is the 17" long pony tail of hair that she donated for wig making.  Way to rock a new haircut!

Kite

Grammy & Grandpa sent the kids a kite.  We all went out together to fly it.  The kite is out of the photo, but its long tails are visible at the top.  Alia took the photo.  She also did the hairdos for both Mom and Elena.

March Band Concerts

Alia has switched from trumpet to french horn and has a new seat in the band....on the right!  Once the band sits down, though, she is hard to see!  She had a couple of solos and did fine!

Tanner performs with the middle school beginning band and does a good job with his clarinet!

Busy, Busy...birthdays, blues, programs

Elena had a music program at school.  She got to play the bells as well as sing and play a shaker.

Tanner had a birthday!  He requested all sorts of yummy foods for dinner--macaroni and cheese, meat balls, pizza...and then he was sick!  Poor kid!  We had to drag him out of bed to enjoy his birthday meal!  He got better quickly and had leftovers the next day, which he said tasted much better than the few things he ate previously!
