Nathan's 5th Birthday!

Nathan turned 5 on May 15th.  Since it fell on a Sunday, we had a family party on Sunday and then on Monday, the 16th, he had a friend party.  Now, Nathan thinks he has two birthdays- May 15th and May 16th.  He was so excited to turn 5.  You wouldn't believe the changes that come when you turn 5.  Apparently, you can automatically run faster than everyone, you grow a foot (at least) and you are WAY smarter.  He tells everyone he sees that he is now 5.  He is very proud of the fact.  I can't believe he is already 5 and will be starting kindergarten this next year.  The time sure has gone by fast!

 We let Nathan choose whatever he wanted for dinner that night- he chose Kaiserschmarrn.  It's a german caramelized crepe type dish, topped with fruit that we like to make for breakfast.   It's yummy- so that's why Nate chose it!

He requested a chocolate pudding pie instead of cake.  Here he is blowing out his candles.

 For his friend party, we had it at a park near our house.  He wanted a "Dino" party.  His only request was he wanted to go on a dino hunt.  So, we did that and then played some relay games.  He got to invite five friends, since he was turning 5.  Top L- Nathan and his friend Quinlan, bottom left- Laney, Top R- Nate's good friend Sam, bottom middle- Nate's best bud from preschool Ian, Bottom R- Nathan throwing a nice little fit because he didn't win.  :)
