On Friday June 3rd Peyton rode a sheep at the Herriman PRCA rodeo. She did a great job riding it and suprisingly rode it for quite a ways even though she came out of the chute leaning off to the side and scored an 81. For riding she won a cute medal and a free pair of Roper boots.

Peyton's Kinergarten Graduation
June 3rd was Peyton's very last day of Kindergarten. A bitter sweet day. I can't believe she will be going to school all day next year. Sad for me...but good for her. Peyton has been so excited to eat school lunch. If she only knew that it's not all what it's cracked up to be.
Peyton and Houston walking to the school for the last day this school year.
For her last day of Kindergarten the school put on a graduation program where all the clases sang lots of cute songs together.
Houston waiting for the program to start.
The entire Kindergarten AM and PM classes.
Peyton kind of singing.
After the program, Peyton's teacher had a little graduation ceremony in the classroom and showed a slideshow of pictures of Peyton and her classmates from throughout the school year.

Peyton with Mrs. Brun. We love Mrs. Brun and hope Houston is lucky enough to get her as a teacher when he goes into Kindergarten.
Peyton did so good in Kindergarten and received excellent grades on her final report card. BRING ON 1ST GRADE!!!

Spring Recital and Dance Decisions
This past Saturday, May 21st, was Peyton's Spring Recital. Phew...with the exception of pictures tomorrow, dance is over for the season. She did great and I was glad in a way that the horse show got cancelled and she was able to make what may be her last recital.
We have been throwing around the idea of dance next year. Peyton just wants to do so much and we want her to be able to explore all her options. We know we will always have horses and that seems to be her true passion and it's difficult to do both horses and dance right now. I can't imagine when she gets older and she would be required to practice several hours a week plus competitions on the weekends.
She has asked me a few times when she can play soccer, basketball, softball, etc. So I had a talk with her and explained that if she wants to keep dancing right now then that will have to come first and she can keep doing the horse shows and rodeos when she doesn't have dance but she wouldn't have time for other sports or she can put dance on hold and she can go to all the horse shows and rodeos she wants and do other sports as well. She chose putting dance on hold.
It's sad to me that we already have to make that decision and she is only 6. But I am looking at putting her in a gymnastics or tumbling class in the fall and winter since she does love that kind of stuff and that way she can still concentrate on horses and I bet she could even play basketball and soccer if she wanted.

Riding Club, Cedar Fort Play Day and EHV-1
Peyton has been riding so well. I think everytime she gets on Rummy the more confident and daring she is. Rummy has been feeling really good too. I think it helps getting rode as often as he has lately. Her club has started timing for the events and she has done awesome! She had the fastest time in the Barrels, Poles and Stake Race and she had the 2nd fastest time in the Keyhole and 4th fastest in the Flag Race all in the 6-8 year old age group. Just a reminder, she is only 6 and this is her 1st year in riding club. I think she is doing awesome and she makes us proud! She has made the A team in all 5 and just has Speed Barrels left to time for.
Before the EHV-1 outbreak, we were able to take Peyton to the first show of the Cedar Fort Play Day series on Saturday, May 14th. Surprisingly, there were not a lot of kids in the 8 and under age group so they combined her age group with the lead line, green rider and green horse groups. She did so well winning the Barrels and Keyhole and took 2nd in both the Poles and Musical Squares.
We had plans to take her to the Silver Spurs Jackpot and the District 3 Kids Show this past weekend but they both got cancelled due to the virus outbreak. Hopefully they will both be rescheduled soon and this will soon pass over. Us and our horses are getting bored. We are not used to being home so much in the Spring. At least it has given us time to work on our barn.

Mother's Day
We were fortunate that my mom was able to come to town and spend the entire Mother's Day weekend with us. We did some shopping on Friday, went to Lagoon on Saturday, and on Sunday we met my Grandma Pat, Uncle Wade, Uncle Kim, Uncle Mick and Aunt Laurie, and my cousins Jessie and Calie and their families at the Discovery Gateway.
It is such fun place for kids. I remember going to the old one when I was a kid and knew my kids would love it.
Afterwards, we went to my Grandma's house for dinner and to just be able to visit with everybody.
On Monday, we did a little more shopping and then my mom had to head back. Thanks mom for everything and for coming and spending the weekend with us! We love when you come to town!

Lagoon Dance Competition 2011
On Saturday, May 7th, Peyton had her last dance competition of the season at Lagoon. This competition is always her favorite because 1. my mom always comes to town for it and 2. we spend the entire day at Lagoon riding rides and playing games.
Peyton and her team did great! They took 1st place in both their jazz and lyrical dance. And it was nice to be able to spend the entire day with my mom there. Thanks mom for coming out for it!

Weber State University Dance Competition
Today was Peyton's 4th dance competition of the season. Yay, we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. This competition was held at the Val A. Browning Center at Weber State University.
Peyton and her team did well again. They received Overall Mini Recreational High Point award for their Splish Splash jazz dance. I am so proud of her. I keep thinking that one day she is going to get burned out with all that she does between school, dance, riding club and just our everyday busy life. But she doesn't. Actually, she's happiest having something going on all the time and would add more to her hectic schedule if I would let her and if we had the time. I am just so happy that she has the opportunity to do the things she loves.
Another trophy to add to the collection.
