Getting up early can feel like the biggest punishment there is. However, that depends if there is an alarm involved or not.
Happy Sunday morning! Mine has been great.
It’s Wednesday once again (middle of the work/study week for most people) and thus the perfect time for some motivation or mood boost for whoever feels like needing one. At least I just found mine. Booking tickets for the movies this weekend I discovered this trailer, and what is not to love about it?! You’ve got to love either movies in general, animated movies, monsters, or you loved your exchange college and this college will be in this movie. The tower, the gate, the grass, the grades, the stadium, the fellow monsters…GOOD TIMES. UC Berkeley, I got your message – you “..made me the student I’m meant to be” ♥. Now I can continue at other ones.
In a little moment of sudden lack of concentration in the process of dealing with an assignment, I got reminded that it’s the Oscar night tonight. But (in case I didn’t mention that), I am writing an assignment instead of having a hilarious get-together with friends and some party food ready to comment on dresses, hairstyles, couples, performances, speeches and awards. (A 10-year old me with the big dream of becoming a world known actress would shake her head.)
Not that I have celebrated the Oscar night in that way before – but right now of course it seems like a very exciting thing to do. However, I’m trying to hold on to the thought that I will get rewarded for such nights as this one with my own “Oscars” one day. Who knows – maybe this assignment is a little step on my way towards becoming as
happy
popular
fabulous
self-confident
and last but not least: sparkly
…as the stars of tonight. You never know. Students of the night: shine on!
Okay, so it’s a fact that my blogging has been scarce lately. It’s also a fact that I just spent one week abroad. And another fact is that friday is over..but well, it’s also not completely saturday yet. So – with your kindest understanding, a broad imagination, and an openness for Frenchness being possible to be found outside of France – please accept this post as an unconventional version of another edition of a French Friday:
Today Oslo was grey. But inside, there was a lot of sunshine – I think especially in the hearts of mothers.
In my opinion, sunday brunch is the best meal of the week. So of course it had to be a little extra special today. For a couple of hours, there were four very happy souls at a kitchen table somewhere in the capital of Norway enjoying themselves with a combination of sweet and salty tastes, crispy bites, colorful temptations and good conversations. That was a perfect start facilitating a whole day of relaxation. It was rounded off in front of the tv, by the fireside, with a cheesecake (from my mum to us ♥ – after all, a mum wouldn’t be a mum without her children) – and no regrets for not leaving the house for a whole day.
An alarm at 10am, a good bakery close by, a little piece of imagination topped with some sisterly teamwork – love doesn’t have to be complicated. Happy Mother’s Day!
This French Friday is going to be drenched in frenchness (just so you are prepared).
During the next 7 days there will be several occasions spreading “hearts and glitter”. There is chocolate, costumes and colors everywhere. Children baking cakes, people buying flowers. So here I serve you some really fat clichés to get you in the mood: the Eiffel tower, lovers, balloons, brunches in cafés on sidewalks…and classy people of course.
Simply l’amour toujours.
Enjoy your week, and let the clichés take you, at least a little bit – cause life is full of little pleasures (when you look for them).
Some are chasing mice, others are chasing time – anyway, it’s wednesday for everybody. Halfway through the week…stay focused!
