ONE BILLION people can be overwhelming. 'Incredib!e India' - the tourism slogan captures this country with astonishing accuracy, but not only in ways subliminally conveyed in the ads. You have to be here to understand the 'other India'. India is instantly life altering. The India the world sees in the main is through Bollywood's glossy cameras. The real India remains elusive in many ways to the outsider. This blog presents photos of daily life in India with an emphasis on its most prominent natural resource - the people. These are not the much glamourized television ad, billboard, Bollywood-type people, but rather the everyday Indians - live from the streets. The title 'Blue Billion' is from the popular Pepsi cricket slogan and the idea was primarily inspired by this photo.
