Irelyn's trip to the Splash Pad

Since summer is almost over and we have yet to make it swimming more than once, my mom and I decided to take my bro's kids to the splash pad in Spanish Fork (Well, actually we wanted to go to Santaquin's, but holy wasps! They need to exterminate out there!)

Irelyn tagged along in her cute little swimming suit, but she didn't want anything to do with the water splashing on her feet! It made her so mad! Next year she will love it I'm sure!  (If not, she will have to just deal with it because she has to be a water baby! I would be so sad if my baby didn't like the water!)

Cierra especially love the splash pad! She would have rather spent the entire time there, rather than split the time between there and the playground like her sister!

She's so photogenic and always up for a picture :)

All of the other kids had a lot more fun on the playground, but this is the only pic I captured there!

The Oscar Meyer Wienermobile made a stop at the Payson Walmart today too! I asked the girls if they wanted to go see it and they had no idea what I was even talking about! They had never even heard of the Wienermobile, and had never heard the Oscar Meyer Wiener song! I was so disappointed they couldn't sing along with me :) I guess that just means I'm old!

And just because I am so in love with this chubby face, two more of my favs of Irelyn :)

Meet the Great Grandparents

Irelyn has been able to visit with so many people in her short weeks of life! Some of the most important of those people are her great grandparents!

We had the chance to go up to Salt Lake and spend the day with Billy's grandpa. Because he hasn't been doing very well lately, we knew he needed some Irelyn therapy! She can make even the worst day seem fabulous! He couldn't take his eyes off of her when he was holding her. It was just so beautiful to me to see this wonderful 92 year old man with my little newborn! However during this beautiful moment, Irelyn did what she does best and showed Great Grandpa Painter that she is in no way a lady when it comes to filling her diaper! The look on Grandpa's face was priceless! I wish I would have had the camera ready to snap a pic!

Irelyn then got to meet her Great Grandma Gloria. I love the brightness of her eyes as she holds her sweet great grandchild! I just love that she never fussed or cried when her great grandparent's were holding her, she was just completely content!

Great Grandpa & Grandma Daley came to visit while we were at my parent's house. The first thing Grandpa wanted to do was hold Irelyn! He wouldn't even share with Grandma, he just wanted to hold her the whole time! His grin was from ear to ear, and he just thought she was so beautiful!

Great Grandma Thomas met Irelyn in the hospital after she was born, but the first pictures we took were not very good quality, so I made her sit down and let me take her picture again! I love that with Irelyn joining our family we now have 4 generations of girls! I hope that her Great Grandma Thomas can teach her all the great things she has taught me!

Just one more set of Great Grandparents to go and she will have met them all! Now to find a time to get to Idaho!

1 Month Old

Wow. One Month. Our little Firecracker has almost been here with us for an entire month! Can it be? I've decided not to blink anymore because I feel like every time I do another day goes by!

Image
Irelyn is growing like a champ, but still feels like my little newborn to me! She can stay in this stage as long as she wants! She is starting to stay awake a little more, and loves to check out her surroundings. She loves her hands, and always wants them in her mouth, especially when she is eating! This makes for a little bit of a difficult time, but it's too cute to let it frustrate me! She hates to be swaddled, and will always have her feet and hands out of her blanket within seconds of being wrapped up. We've had a few sleepless nights because she loves to grunt ALL NIGHT LONG! We are trying some gripe water to see if it is because she has a tummy ache, but honestly I think she just really likes to do it! She recognizes voices and loves to hear you talk to her. She is a little daddy's girl, and will always fall asleep for him after mommy has tried her hardest to calm her down.
She is certainly the highlight of our lives and we are so excited she is part of our family!

Here are a few more from our little photo shoot!
