Christmas day pictures

Since Devin was here at Christmas time we thought it would be fun to take some pictures. I hope you enjoy them.

Columbus day fun

Since Keith had the day off, we decided to go the beach. We went to South Beach, MS. It is about an hour away. We were hoping to swim but it was really windy. The water was warm but not very deep so decided to just enjoy the view and drive down the coast to do a little more exploring.

Keith went out pretty far and it came just above his knees.

We ended up in the town of Pass Christian and saw this restaurant at the harbor.

It had the best tasting cheeseburgers. One of the best we have ever had.

The sand was very white.

We had never seen this kind of bike before. It was made for the sand. This guy was nice enough to let us take his picture.

We find it strange that they still have boats and and truck trailers on the side of the canals. Katrina happened 9 years ago, maybe they keep them as a reminder. They are still rebuilding the docks.

They still do a lot of shrimping and hauling in oysters.

This is the safe way to live in this area.

They have a memorial here with all the names of people who passed away in St. Bernard Parish.

Nearby plantations and their grounds

On August 3rd after church we decided to go see some of the plantations. They were beautiful.

We love this part of the road. It is prettier in real life.

The lady who manages the rv park where we are told of a place we could see some the these fine specimens. It is a canal right off the road. It is pretty cool.

Finally an update.

We moved from Long Beach, CA to Hephzibah, GA mid Feb of 2014 then from Hephzibah, GA to St. Bernard, LA(which is across the Mississippi river from New Orleans) in June. Keith actually moved May 17th to start his new job at the Naval Air Base with a company called FSI doing fire alarms.

 We got to stay with the Chris Brady family at their rental house and their new house. Thanks for letting us stay.

These fish had just been brought in. These are red snapper. Bottom picture shows the fillets the fishermen will be taking home. Makes me want to take up fishing again.
