Hi Again! No we did not fall off of the Planet!

Image
We did move, again!
But seeing as that was 7 months ago most of you know that already.

Image
Because of our move we were able to enjoy a true autumn!
(where the leaves change colors and fall off the trees)

ImageImage We had a lot of fun dressing up for Halloween.  Here are some of the costumes.  Jessie was also a blue dragon and Kiersti was seen in many a costume but finally settled on Snow White. (it sure is nice to have a lot of options in the dress-up box!) Jeff decided to be a pirate the day before Halloween so we threw together a costume with stuff from around the house.  I think it turned out pretty good!  Naomi's witch socks are my favorite!
Image
She borrowed the dress from a friend and I made the hat from poster board and black felt.  Caroline just gathered the black clothes and found the tail we made a few years ago.  We couldn't find the ears so we made new ones with felt left over from Naomi's hat.

There have been several birthday celebrations. Mine in November.

Caroline's Birthday was in January and all she asked for was a Chocolate orange!  It took a little work to find it after the Holidays but we managed.  I even surprosed her by inviting some of the neighborhood friends to celebrate with her.

Jeff's birthday was Feb 7 he was so excited.  We had a detective themed party which was a lot of fun!  The boys had a blast running all around and solving the clues.  They even got to catch the thieves who stole the birthday cake  !

Image
Kiersti's birthday followed right after Jeff's.  She wanted everything to be Hello Kitty for her party. (she has been planning this party for a year)  Jessie took care of the cake making decorating which was very helpful since after the wild and crazy boy party for Jeff the day before I was feeling really tired and uncomfortable!

Image
This is me at Kiersti's party.  I was giving orders from the couch.  Luckily I had help from the grandmas and B.  I was glad that the Hello Kitty party was not another detective hunt through the neighborhood!  By the end of the day I was feeling VERY uncomfortable but by the next morning........

I was feeling much better but still very tired!

Graduation

I finished all my course work in November and had a party on Black Friday to celebrate.
My official graduation was in December and I received my diploma in the mail.
Image
It was fun to graduate with Julie Green.  Keith and Nathan Graduated from BYU together in 1999 and they graduated from SCCO (optometry school) together in 2003.

I didn't think the actually graduation ceremonies would be that big a deal since they were 4 months after the fact, but I was wrong!  It was really cool to walk in my graduation.  And I got a fun adrenalin rush just before walking across the stage.  The best part though was being with awesome friends and family, for Easter weekend no less!!

Cute Quote

My kids love Tangled!! They watched it three times in the one day we had it from redbox!  Not to mention the times they've watched it at friend's houses and in the theater.
So the other day Kiersti is singing, "Flower gleam and glow, let your power shine..."
Then Tee starts singing with her, "Make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine."

Kiersti gave her daddy a scowling look and said, "No, Daddy, it's not a handsome song!"

We were all a bit confused until we realized that she was referring to the fact that only girls sing the song in the movie, no men.

Sorry, Dad, no song for you.

March Madness

Yes I know it is a week into April already...
but here is a little about the Castletown goings on last month anyway.

Image

Jessie, Caroline, Naomi and I were invited (along with hundreds of other BYU alumni)
to a BYU Theatre Ballet performance.  They asked everyone to dressed as princes or princesses and enjoy a meet and greet party with the dancers before the show.

Image

Naomi was excited to find a dancer with the same costume.  She wasn't really trying to be red riding hood.  The cape just came in handy to cover the big slit we had to make in the back of the jumper so it would fit around Naomi. (The jumper was originally made to fit a 6 year old Jessie.)

Image

Then we found a twin for Caroline (yes that was my prom dress )

Image

Jessie was so excited to tell all the performers that she wants to go to BYU and study dance.  She was also showing off some of her ballet costume designs.  However we did not find a twin dancer for her.

Image

So she settled for prince charming!

On the 14th (3.14) we celebrated Pi Day!!!!
The kids had fun handing out invitations and we had a spectacular turn out.  We had mini pie eating contests, (which Frogalee has the pictures of,)  read a book called "Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi," had a contest to see who could memorize the most digits of pi and played some awesome games.  Then we ate pie!!!!! Lots of pie!!!!!

Image
The crowds were lining up before we even had all the pies out on the counter.

Image

Jessie baked this apple crisp all by herself for a friend who needed to have a gluten free pie.

Jessie's cheer team competed (and won their division) at the cactus jam festival.  Not only did their team win for their routine but they came home with the sportsmanship trophy as well. They did such a  good job!
