Silver

Ruby has enjoyed being on the Silver team in Gymnastics this year. She competed in 6 competitions Jan- May 2024. She goes to the gym 7 or 8 hours a week and is so dedicated. She has never missed a practice unless we have been on vacation.

Ruby placed 1st on floor at 3 different competitions. Floor is her favorite and best event. Her highest score ever was when she got a 9.7 on beam!

She competed in the State Competiton at the end of May and here are her scores and places:

Vault: 8.85

Bars: 8.6

Beam: 9.7 and 2nd place

Floor: 9.225 and 3rd place

All-around: 36.375

Tesla

Our minivan broke in April and it was going to cost $1,500 to fix it, so we decided to get a new car! The van was getting old- almost 15 years and had nearly 200,000 miles on it. We got the van with Ruby was 2, Diego was 5, and Eli was 8.

We got a Tesla on May 1st! We love it. It is black with tan interior. It's a 2017 X model and seats 6 people. It cost $35,000. We put $3,000 down and had to finance the rest.

We ended up fixing the van and then selling it on Facebook Marketplace for $8,500 cash. It was fun to have 85 $100's. We took them directly to the bank though.

Cesar also gave his car a little mechanic love and put in a new muffler one day. We may sell his car in the next little while, but not sure yet.

Kids Birthdays

Diego turned 14 in March 2024 and had a sleepover party with a few friends.

Ruby had a party for her 11th birthday in February 2024

Eli had a sleepover party in October 2023 for his 16th birthday. There was a partial solar eclipse that we looked at in the morning with special glasses.

Eli- Rock Climbing

Eli was on a school district climbing team with a few friends.

They would practice Monday nights at City Rock, a climbing gym in downtown Colorado Springs.

They also had a handful of climbing competitions on Saturdays.

Eli had a nice time and I enjoyed watching and cheering him on.

Eli's Drivers License

Eli got his Driver's License on April 11, 2024!

He has gone out a couple of times on his own and it is nerve wracking for me.

He had his driver's permit for a year a half and logged in over 50 hours of driving.

Lorena

Cesar's sister, Lorena, died in March. She was sadly shot to death in Denver.

We attended her funeral in April. It was a nice funeral and Julia gave such a nice euology and Cesar spoke and did a great job too. There was a nice potluck lunch after the service. It was nice to see family and friends.
