.:2012:.

Wow, what a year it has been! I can't believe I am sitting here writing my year end post. It seems that I just wrote a post for 2011. I know most of us remember adults telling us to enjoy our childhood. "Enjoy it! You will be an adult soon, and time will keep going faster and faster!" I get it now. All those naps I avoided, the days spent being a child, I miss those now. They were gone way too fast. Even though that can be somewhat depressing to think about, it has been such a blessing to watch those same experiences through my child's eyes. 2012 has been a year of tremendous growth for my little family.

Max is a full fledged toddler. He is such an amazing human being and I love him more and more everyday. Is it possible that my heart will burst if I love him anymore? Because it keeps happening. The more his little personality starts to develop, the more trouble I realize I am in for. He is just such a boy, adventurous and strong willed. He does things his way and I love that about him. Sure, it can be frustrating but it is also so exciting.

I started school almost a year ago and I am at the half way mark. I should be done by July! I am so excited to be so close. My patience for nights spent on homework is wearing thin. I am just ready to be a working mom again. Not a working mom in school. It really is just too much. I think my hair is pretty lucky to make it out of this year alive.

Seth and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year. I feel so blessed to be married to my very best friend. Even when nothing seems to be going right, we laugh and enjoy each others company. He has been my strength this year, and I couldn't have made it as far in school as I have if not for him.

I have struggled a lot this year with finding my stride, but now at the end of it, I can look back and realize we didn't do half bad. 2013 is going to be a great year for us, I feel it. With the end of school near, maybe we will start trying to add another to our family. You know, because things can't be too calm for too long or I might get used to it!

Happy New Year everybody!

a quick update:

Wow, December 1st! I have been a terrible blogger this year! It has been a really busy year for us. I started school in February, and am glad to announce that I am at the half way mark! I've completed 6 classes and have 6 more to go. I have a break for the holidays and then am going to be doubling my course load so that I can finish before summer. So just a little longer and a few breakdowns left before I am done! I'm not really quite sure how I've been managing work, school, being a wife and mom. All I can say is making family the priority and having Seth to help me has been the key. I am so blessed to have Seth in my life. He has really been so supportive of this journey. Through it all we have become closer and are both excited for graduation day. It truly will be OUR accomplishment.

Max - 2 years old

Max turned 2 years old on October 8th. He seemed a little more aware this year that it was his birthday. He kept singing the Yo Gabba Gabba song about his birthday. We had just come off of a 9 day trip to NYC so we didn't have a big party. We just invited family over for dinner and treats. Max loves Yo Gabba Gabba, so of course, our little party had a theme.

The kids made their own pizzas:

Max had a lot of fun, and so did Mommy. Having a small little party was so much less stressful, and seemed just as fun for Max.

My Baby Loves to Dance!

Image

The love of my life.

Little man is 18 months old. He gets cuter and cuter everyday. He just talks so much and is such a personality. Life for us is busy with things like work, school, and family obligations but I really can't complain. Life is good and we have been so blessed. Life is good!

Here are just a couple pictures of this past weekend. Little man is getting big!

♥ 16 months ♥

Well, all is well in the house of Chhour. We are in a calm period before things start getting pretty busy for us. I am starting my graduate program in a little less than 2 weeks. It is going to take some of the precious time I have with my son away, but I'm doing it for us. I think it will be a trying time but we are so blessed that I have this opportunity. I really think this will be so big for our family.

Max is doing great and he is such an amazing child. He is learning so much and is so big.

We are getting some fun words out of him. He clearly says Mommy, Daddy, Baby, Go, uh oh, and he still asks for "more" using sign language. He is running and playing like such a big boy. Max loves all types of food and he loves to eat it with chopsticks, or try anyway.

He is just a typical little boy. He makes messes, throws tantrums, and is a cuddly loving guy. He is all ours, and we couldn't love him more.
