18 months and Fall

Hello everyone. Fall is here and Kinzie's 18th month has come already. Hard to believe we have a one and a half year old on our hands. She's trying to say new words every day when we speak them to her and really has taken a liking to the flash cards we bought her. We know when she wants to play with them because she'll start saying "bapple" over and over (an apple is on the cover). She can also say and pick out certain body parts now - probably thanks to the many times we've sung "head, shoulders, knees and toes." She still loves Elmo. She has started going down big slides all by herself now. She loves to climb up on the playground equipment and sit down at the top of the slide and slowly pull herself down until she gets going.

She is going to dress up as a duck for Halloween this year because that was the first big word that she said. Right now the plan is to head to a friend's house on Halloween night and meet up with some other parents of young-ins and walk around while it's still pretty early out (weather permitting). Kinzie also made her first trip to the zoo in Sept. Mom was meeting up with a friend from Grand Junction who has a little boy the same age and it was fun to see her reactions to all of the animals.

Grandma and Grandpa Denny also stopped by for a short visit in the beginning of Oct and we were happy to have them, especially while Grandma Denny celebrated a birthday on Oct 1st. We also went to our first "harvest festival" where there were hay rides and a hay maze on an organic farm just about 10 minutes from our house. We plan to go back in the future as we've been looking to find local organic farmers! All in all, some very fun times and we're very much looking forward to the Holiday Season continuing!
