I live in Vermont, where I hand-paint Compliment Coins (and other things that make me happy).

The idea for these little wooden coins started in 2017.

I was standing in a long airport customs line, watching a mom juggle three exhausted kids. She was doing it, but it was HARD. I remember thinking:

I wish I could give her something.

Not a note. Something small and solid. Something she could hold. Something that said:

“I’ve been there. I see you. YOU ARE AMAZING.”

That moment stuck with me and stuck with me. I tried and tried and eventually, it became Compliment Coins.

Now I get to make joyful gift coins- small tokens of appreciation- that help people feel seen in big and little moments.
