My beautiful wreath!

Image Inspired by Mary Pinegar, I decided to make my 1st wreath! It was oh so fun and it is oh so beautiful! Jared couldn't stop talking about how much he loved it when he got home from work last night. What a doll! Kailee loved it so much she asked me if she could sleep with it in her crib. I told her that she might roll on it and mess it up, so she gave me permission to keep it on the door! How delightful!
Image Isn't our doorway just gorgeous?!

Daddy time!

Image Pop Quiz: Is this Kailee or Makenzie?
Image Here Kailee says "hey Mom, can you give me a minute, I need to talk to Daddy!"
Image I pretended to leave the room, but was actually still there listening. Kailee was giving Jared a pep-talk before his run. She said "I know you don't want to go running Dad, but you've got to, you're the fastest Dad I've got!"
Image Here Kailee turns around and catches me eaves dropping. Of course, we all have to smile about Mom's sneakyness!
ImageHere's a shot of Jared all geared up in his new running clothes. And yes, that flower to the right is mine. Jared brought me a gerber daisy... my favorite! Isn't he a sweetie pie!

Kailee's friends!!

Image Here is Kailee with my friend Janine's baby Jonas. Jonas could play with her toy for hours if we let him; he loves it!
Image Here is Leighton! Doesn't he look cute with a pink bib?
Image Our long lost bestest friends Ashely and Lee Willis who moved to Virginia decided to come back because they missed us so much! JK... they were visiting. This is their cute little girl Makenzie on the left. She is 6 months and so adorable. Aren't her eyes just dazzling? Kailee really enjoyed sitting with her on the couch as they watched TV! lol.
Image Here, Kailee does the whole smooth arm around the back trick. Makenzie didn't even know it was coming and of course pretends she doesn't notice it. Makenzie's cheeks turn red as she is a little giddy and excited that Kailee likes her so much!
Image Here is the happy Makenzie once again at our house! She doesn't even move her hands when she's eating. I wish I could get Kailee to sit still and not fly her hands everywhere when I'm trying to feed her. Oh, and that's Ashely Willis's beautiful hand on the right.

Los Hermanos

Image
For Jared's B-day, his parents took us out to Los Hermanos for dinner! It was delicious! Jared wore his Los Hermanos shirt that he got from DI to get himself a free specialty drink, which I thoroughly enjoyed! lol

Image
Here is Jared's fabulous fam! All are here except his older sister Jamie who is married in Texas with 2 cute little girls and Colby who is serving a mission in Lisbon, Portugal... same mission Jared went to!
Image
If you're wondering why cute 13 yr. old Amie on the right is taking up 2 chairs with her leg propped up... it's because she got in a fight... jk... someone kicked her in soccer practice and her ankle was as big as a cankle! lol

Image

Here is Uncle Cam the Man (Cameron). Kailee loved wearing his hat! He's the one who made her beanie for those of you that keep asking me where she got it!

Our Mischevious Little Girl!

Image Kailee made her 1st "mess" (other than when eating). I was so excited for her that I had to take a picture. You have to look closely at the corner of the chair seat. There was a small hole Kailee found, which she managed to pull cotton out of and make a bigger hole! If you look at the floor closely, you'll see a ball of cotton that she threw on the floor all by herself! I thought about punishing her and sending her to her room for 45 seconds (Aren't you supposed to give a minute of time out for each year of age!!), but I decided against it! Kailee is still an angel in my eyes and instead of time out... we went out for ice cream to celebrate! Is it good parenting to reward kids when they do something wrong?? lol
Image Okay, so one minute I see Kailee and the next minute she's gone. I freaked out... where could she have gone so quickly. She was no where to be found in the living room. So, thinking that she decided to go take a nap, I went in her room and she was not in her crib or playing with her toys. So, next I thought maybe she decided to go hop on our bed for her nap... nope. Then as I turned to go back out of my room to call the police to report a missing baby... to my utter disbelief, I saw Kailee hiding in our closet. How she got up there, I do not know. She had this huge grin, started laughing, and said "you found me!! Good job Mom!"
Image I was not laughing; I was in shock. When Kailee saw I wasn't smiling back, she gave me this "Am I in trouble?" look. After a few seconds, I had to laugh too! Kailee was relieved and jumped into my arms! It was hilarious! My daughter is quite adventurous sometimes!

Can you afford to drop out of school?

ImageHere's the latest rollerblading pic!
We call ourselves the Julshanine Bladers. (Julie, Shannon, and Janine) I know... clever! As far as the baby division goes, their name is the ReaKaiJo Bladers (Reagan, Kailee, & Jonas) . I don't mean to brag, but I think it's a great accomplish... we have both come in 1st place in every race we've bladed! I don't know who I'm prouder of... us big girls or the little guys??
Image This is us a few minutes after crossing the finish line. As you can see... after a 46 mile blade, we're not even sweating and still smiling! The 1st prize winners each received 1 million dollars, so Jared and I have decided that he's going to quit school in April and we're moving to Texas to live it up!! Julie's husband Will already quit school and with their extra mulah... they moved out of Wymount! Janine is pretty certain that Travis is quitting school in April too and they're moving to Washington (I think). So, if you're looking for a way to get rich quick... start rollerblading! If you'd like to donate to the World Rollerblading Tournament, you can send checks to Shannon Critchfield... e-mail me if you'd like my address! A minimum of a $100 donation is appreciated.
Image I babysit 3 kids occassionally and they are so cute and so much fun! This here is Catalina who is 3.
ImageMarron is 14 months and Marshall is 5. Marron enjoys her latest discovery of walking and Marshall enjoys his latest discovery of crawling, lol.
ImageMarron loves to scoot out my chairs, climb up on them and then climb on the table. It's quite cute, I just have to keep a good eye on her... it's not very often I actually let her get the satisfaction of getting on the table, lol. It's hard to believe that this could be Kailee in 8 months!

Jared's 26th Birthday!

Image His 1st birthday with a kid!
Image When I told Kailee these presents weren't for her, but that she could help open them, she gave me this look like "what... why am I even helping Dad?"

Image Here are the 2 beautiful shirts I got him!ImageAnd here is Jared in his new winter running gear! Compliments to Shannon and Angie (Nana)!
ImageHummm... I've never seen a runner lookin so good! Do you think this pic. could go on the front of a runner's magazine? I think so, expecially with the couch and the trash in the background!

Kailee started crawling!

Kailee started crawling yesterday afternoon. So, all those who voted that she'd start at 8 months; you're right. She'll be 8 months tomorrow!

Graciela and Manuel!

Image
I got to see Graciela again! My Dad met her on his mission in Lima, Peru years ago. She loved the missionaries and became someone very dear to my father. When I was 8 years old, she came to visit and though she doesn't speak English, we had a ball together. She played with me, colored with me, taught me a little Spanish, and I taught her a little English. It's been 14 years and I finally got to see her again! Her son, Manuel goes to school now in Salt Lake at the LDS business college. She was able to finally come and visit him. When I found out she was coming, I was thrilled! Jared's loving Mother invited Graciela and Manuel over for dinner Sunday evening. So Jared and I went to pick them up. I don't know what I'd do without Jared... he kept the conversation going, considering I don't speak Spanish. I'm so glad Jared can speak Spanish... and Portuguese! Graciela's English was impressive. She knew how to say "I love you," "kiss," "fish" (which I taught her years ago), "look at the light," etc. She even sang "I am a Child of God" to Kailee in Spanish! We had so much fun. She is the sweetest lady. She gave me a beautiful bracelet and gave me a big box of chocolate to give to my Dad... we'll see how much of the chocolate actually gets to him, lol.

Isn't she beautiful!

Here Graciela is playing with cute little Kailee! I never knew socks could be so entertaining!

Image

The first thing Graciela told me was how tall I was. I remembered her being a lot taller myself, but now she's the short one, lol! She is 74 years old and you would never know it. She is so healthy and looks great. She looks about 40 if you ask me! It seemed that half the night she was complimenting Jared's entire family. Jared is "muy guapo," Amie is "bonita" of course, Kevin is "guapisimo", Terrie is precious, and Cameron has a sweet, baby face... she said he looks so innocent! Graciela is one of the sweetest people I know. She has a lot of gratitude in her heart for everything. Her son Manuel is just like her, very kind and polite. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Graciela and meeting Manuel. We're going to see them one more time next week! I can hardly wait!

Date # 3

ImageHere is my friend Shannyn Weiler's baby, Clark! As you can see, Kailee adores him! She's got a good eye for cute boys!
Image
ImageClark loved the camera attention!
ImageThis totally looks like the Romeo and Juliet scene!
ImageKailee is sharing her toys already! When they were side by side playing with this toy, I caught Kailee putting her arm around Clark's back, but before I could get the camera, she removed it.

Strawberry Shortcake!

Image Kailee loves to stand in her crib and eat the railing!
Image Here she is in a most adorable outfit... strawberry shortcake!

Books rock!

Image Kailee loves to read! Well... she loves to look at pictures. She always wants to turn the page, but ends up closing the whole book, so I have to pull up a page a little so she can turn it!
Image Here is Kailee once again fascinated by her books!
Image She is just so advanced in her reading skills; I think she reads like 85 words a minute! lol
