My parents came to visit us in early December. It was fun to have a early Christmas celebration and definitely made it easier to stay home for the holidays.
Waco Zoo
-The Beaver slide was a hit, even for Grandma and Grandpa.
-When we were watching the elephants we heard a lion roaring. My family loves to tease me about this one, but I told them I thought it was fabricated somehow. Well we went to check the lions out and found the male strutting in front of the window. He was unbelievable and roared at us a couple of times. It gave us all the shivers, but we were amazed.
-Since our engagement my Mom has teased us about our mushiness, so I like to play it up when she is around!
-The Gorilla gong and monkey ropes for our monkeys. Who cares about looking at the real animals.
-The fall leaves were beautiful, we don't have much of them in our area.
-They had the best reptile and night animal exhibits (owls, bats, raccoons, armadillos).
Belton Lake Lights
-We started the night by going to Rudy's BBQ.
-They greeted us at the gate with candy canes and a stream of fake snow.
-We drove through five miles of Christmas lights set to music.
-The Grand Finale was a tunnel of lights, unbelievable.
Frost Fest
-Cookies and hot cocoa were served.
-Petting zoo (reindeer included)
-Santa and his elves
-Train ride
-Giant slide
-We missed Daddy who wasn't feeling well.
