Family Fun

Since the last post, we have done a few things...
  • First St. George Triathlon (a Beginner)
  • Celebrated Halloween by scaring the neighborhood children (what you can't see in the picture is the fog machine that we would turn on when we heard someone at the door - hence the tears from some of the little-ones...)

  • Visited with siblings at our house

  • Second St. George Triathlon (I did the Beginner and PC did the Sprint - what a man!)
  • Welcomed (not-willingly) winter
Things we have yet to do...
  • Give talks in church (this Sunday)
  • Eat Turkey with  PC's family
  • Have the Benefit Concert for PC's sister who is having a kidney transplant in December
  • Do our Christmas shopping
Be forewarned - it might be a while before I post again (but I will do my best!!)

We Should Have Been Carpenters

September was a busy month at our house.  Here are a few highlights:

The Daybreak Triathlon...My PC, his father, and I did the Sprint portion of the Daybreak Triathlon.  PC swam 800 M (even though it ended up being 75 M and 1 Mile run because they had to close the lake.  It was infested with some kind of worm - YUCK!!), his dad biked 12 Miles, and I ran a 5 K.  It was my first race ever and it was harder than I thought it would be.  But in spite of that, we are going to do a half sprint in St. George in a couple of weeks.  This time we will all do it on our own.  It is a 200 M swim, 6 Mile bike, and 1.7 Mile run.  It should be interesting.

PC was in prison.  His band (in which he plays the keyboard and does vocals) played at the Point of the Mountain.  PC tells the story much better than me so I won't go into all of the details.  They played in the Chapel to a room full of inmates.  I think they are really good (and not just because I'm in love with the keyboardist)!  They play songs like "I'm a Believer", "Superman", "Ring of Fire", "Mustang Sally", "Walk of Life", and "Wonderful Tonight" (one of my favorites).  PC said it was a fun gig.

We are continuing in our quest to put our house together.  I still have major amounts of boxes in the basement but we need to get the upstairs all set before we can decide what things of mine to keep or give away.  As part of our wedding gifts, we got some furniture.  It's the kind that you put together yourselves.  We did a really good job (and it was fun too)!  So, I have decided that we should have been carpenters instead of a computer-guy and a teacher-girl.

We each did one of these.  It was an evening activity.  Ahhh...togetherness.

Living in Utah

It's official...I now live in Utah.  From what I understand, there are certain toys that Utahans need.  I guess I can now join the club because I have acquired the necessary equipment.  Thanks to my PC, I am properly outfitted.

We have had fun finding all of the right equipment!  I will now be able to join him biking and skiing.  I have to laugh at the reactions I have gotten when I mention my new skis.  It has been shock, plain and simple.  The funniest thing is that in the back of my mind I share the same shocked reaction at times.  As a side note: I did go skiing with PC a couple of times last season and didn't stink too badly.  The only thing that really gets me is that cold stuff called snow.

I have decided that I love living in Utah.  I love planning activities to do with my Honey.  I'm excited to become a more rounded (and inevitably bruised) individual.
