Kauai Trip

I had some time off the beginning of November so we thought that we had better take advantage of it. And what better way to do it than a trip to Kauai. We went back and forth trying to decide if we should go or not, but decided that this will be our last hurrah before these babies come.

Image In Kauai the west side you can only access by boat. We were able to take a boat tour to see the Napali Coast. It was so beautiful. The views were breathtaking.
ImageWe came across a pod of like 20 dolphins. They put on quite the show for us!

Image One of the other days there we did a doors off helicopter tour. Kind of scary but again we were able to see some amazing views of the island. I got off the helicopter and my legs were so sore from trying to keep from moving for fear that I was going to fall out of the chopper.

Image Being the nice wife that I am , we went golfing a couple of times (actually Danny did, I drove the first day, then the next day he went, I decided to go explore the island a little more)

Image Good form babe!

ImageDanny had lots of fun snorkeling! I am a little bit of a whimp when it come to the ocean so I spent most of my time just sunbathing! He would have spent the whole trip snorkeling if it was up to him! We saw so many pretty fish, he was able to swim right along side a sea turtle, and he even saw an octopus which changed colors a few times while he was watching him.
Image This was the view from our condo, it was such a nice place to stay, made it very hard to come home!

Image The island was full of waterfalls. This was one of the few that you can actually drive to. Such beautiful scenery. We had so much fun and were not ready to come back home to snow!

Twinners

We finally have something blog worthy to blog about. Back in July we started the process for In-virto. That is basically what our summer consisted of. It is about a six week process of inject able medications. Going into this I was very scared for many reasons. I was really nervous to what the side effects were going to be from the medications and I was just nervous that it wouldn't work. All in all I have to say that it was a pretty easy thing to go through. I say easy only because it wasn't nearly as bad as we thought it was going to be. Every night as I gave myself a shot I thought.... We better get pregnant through this!

Towards the middle of August we did the whole egg retrieval and they did the fertilization. We ended up with 2 really good embryos on the day they did the transfer and we were able to freeze 3!

On August 27th we went back in to have the blood work done to see if the procedure was successful. We went to the clinic around 9:00 that morning and then they said that they would call us back later on that day with the results. We got home and Danny said "Darc you should just take a pregnancy test to see if you are" I was very hesitant because we had a bad experience with that once before, so I just didn't want to get my hopes up and then find out that it didn't work. Well I took one anyway and it showed up instantly that we were pregnant. Danny was very excited at that point but I still had to hear from the clinic before I believed it. Around 12:00 the nurse called and gave us the news "well you are definitely pregnant!" She said that my levels were really high. She said regularly they come back at around 100 and mine were at 912. She said that it could mean that either one implanted early on or that they both took. After we got off the phone we were so happy the water works began for me and we started passing the good news on to everyone! We later went back to the clinic on the 10th to see if there were twins or not. Sure enough the first thing the Dr. said when he was doing the ultrasound was "well you guys are going to have your hands full" our first thought was triplets but luckily enough its TWINS!

We couldn't be happier with the results. I don't know if we know quite what we're getting into, but I guess we won't know any different. The twins are due May 1st.

Going through this whole process we have felt so blessed by many friends and family members that have included us in many of their prayers and fasts. We have been so amazed at the outpouring of love that we have received from each one of you. This has been such a long journey for us. We wouldn't change it for a thing though. We are grateful for the lessons we learned and for the knowledge that everything happens in the Lords time and he knows whats best for us. I truly have gained such a testimony of that. We are so grateful for the love and support that we have received from everyone. We couldn't have done this without you! Now the next time I post will probably be when we find out the sex of the babies!

Sorry I always hate posts without pictures but I can't get our scanner to work or else I would post the ultrasound pic!

Long Time Coming

I know that these pictures have been a long time coming. We are in our new home! We closed on November 19th, which also happened to be our 5 year anniversary. I will apologize now for the long post. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Here is the outside of the house. We did have a few set backs along the way, they completely messed up on the exterior of the house. They did the wrong stucco and stone. Unfortunately they were unable to change it in order for us to be able to close by the estimated date, so they ended up compensating us in other ways to make up for it. Luckily the color is not bad, it could have been a lot worse.

We are so happy to be in the house. It has been so much fun. It is so nice to have all the space! We love the way everything turned out. We still have a lot of work to do but bit by bit it is coming together.

Now for an update on everything else! As I mentioned above we had our 5th year anniversary. It is so hard for me to believe that it has been 5 years. Some days it seems like it has been longer than that and other days it seems like just yesterday that we got married. I am so grateful for Danny and the rock that he is in my life. He is so good for me. Those of you who know him know that it is very rare for him not to have a smile on his face. He has the best outlook on life and such a good attitude for life and the trials that come with it. In December he had a 2 week training in Tennessee, lets just say it was the longest 2 weeks of my life. It made me realize just how lucky I am to have him in my life. I cannot imagine life without him. He bring so much joy and happiness to me.

We spent Thanksgiving with Danny's family here in Utah. Then for Christmas we went up to Idaho to spend time with my family. It it is always so nice to be able to spend time with friends and loved ones over the holidays.

This week we were able to get together with Danny's friends from high school (Fab-8). It was so fun to see everyone, and are grateful that we have all been able to stay in touch.

Reflecting on 2009, we feel like we have been so blessed. We have had our trials, but are so grateful for the blessings that have come into our lives this year. We are grateful for friends and loved ones for their love, support, prayers, and fasting on our behalf.

We hope that 2010 (so crazy to write that) brings you much happiness.
