Out of the Mouth of Babes
Our kids say the funniest things all the time so I really need to be better at documenting them! Tristyn had a few funnies yesterday . . . I was helping her peak out our bathroom window to see the boys working in the back yard. There were a few clouds that were illuminated by the afternoon sun. Tristyn pointed to one and said “Look, the Holy Ghost!” When I looked out and asked where, she pointed and said “The Holy Ghost cloud, right there!” It did look like it was glowing!
Then we were out returning some things at Burlington and someone had hung a bra along the checkout isle. In her loud Dora voice, she said “Look! Something that boobies go in!” I explained that it’s called a bra and she went on to say how they are for boobs when they get bigger. Everyone in line got a quick course in anatomy from a 4 (almost) year old! She kept looking at stuff along the isle and knocked one of the hooks down. It made a loud clank and so she giggled at the checker and said she was very noisy. We didn’t disagree!
Our next stop was Shopko. On the way in she tried to scrape dried bird poop from the car next to us. When I explained what it was she was grossed out. I was very tempted to wipe her hand before I had to hold it to cross the parking lot. Yuck! She had her little notebook that apparently had a list of all the things we needed to buy because she was telling me what we needed to get next. Things like skirts, hair things, swim suits, and her birthday card! She wanted to pick one out herself. I found a cute princess castle card and tried to sneak it in the cart but she dug it out so she could hold it. I found it on her night stand last night. Then she went to Macy’s with Dan . . . maybe that’s why he came home with way more than was on the list!
On other topics, Jaelin has been getting up on all fours and is rocking a bit so it won’t be long before she is racing Tristyn around the house! She also had watermelon and strawberries in a mesh bag yesterday and loved them. Mason is on his last Kindergarten field trip today and has his K program tomorrow night. I can’t believe the year is over. Other than the ‘water gun’ incident that caused us to go to the principal’s office last week, it’s been a great year for him and he has learned so much! He has been helping Dan prep the back yard for a new swing set and is chompin’ at the bit to put it together!
