Crafts/spring/pinterest

We decided to do some improvements on the swingset and started by painting this board with chalkboard paint.  I'll have to get a picture of the finished project!

Our little garden looks so pretty in the spring!  This picture makes me laugh because Jordan was chasing Cosmo through the garden.  What you CAN see in this picture is Cosmo rolling around in the dirt.  what you CAN'T see is Jordan behind the bush looking for him!

and still looking :)

Thank you pinterest!!  I got this great idea for traveling snacks.  I used them on our trip to Iowa and it was a big hit!  Callen loved the variety and it kept Jordan entertained for hours!!

Preschool Family Day with Callen

Callen's preschool had a family day.  So Jordan, Brynlee, and I were able to join her.  They had a mini carnival which was super fun but it was windy and FREEZING, so we didn't last too long outside.

after the carnival they provided lunch and we had a great time.   I didn't get any pictures inside as it was a little crazy trying to take care of all 4 girls (my 3 plus maggie).  But we had a lot of fun and the teachers are the SWEETEST ladies ever, they helped get the girls food and even helped hold Brynlee so I could actually eat!

Easter

The Easter Bunny made a visit to our house Saturday night and the girls woke to a house full of easter eggs!  there were very excited to find their baskets and their eggs!

Jordan left her binky outside and it got run over by the lawnmower.  she handed it to me and said "fix it mama, fix it!"  I told her I couldnt' fix it but she still tried to use it anyway!

I sure do love these girls!!  The only thing that would make this better is if Daddy was home to be in the picture!

Church Easter Egg Hunt

After Sesame street we headed over to the park for the ward Easter Egg hunt.  We played on the playground equipment for awhile and then we started the hunt.

Image

The girls are getting pretty good at hunting for eggs now, in fact there was a 10 egg limit and Callen had to go hide a few of her eggs as she got too many before I even caught up with her to count!

afterwards we had lunch with our friends and more playtime at the park.  Here is Callen with her friend Jonathan Morgan.

Sesame Street

The USO brought Sesame Street to base!  I wasn't planning on going but some friends weren't using their tickets and I found out the show was only 1/2 an hr. so I decided we would check it out.  Our good friends the Altmans were also going and we met them outside in line and sat with them.  They handed out elmo spinning light toys which the kids loved and that helped to entertain them until the show started.

Image

I was a little worried about if Jordan would be entertained or not but once the show started they both seemed mesmerized!

Brynlee had little bits of happiness mixed in with the crying!

What makes Jordan happy these days??

Swing Now?!!  This is what I hear most of the day.  Jordan grabs my hand and says "swing now, swing now!"  I think she would sit her ALL day if I let her.  She's asking to get back in within 5 minutes of getting down.

Image

after pushing Jordan and Callen for at least a couple of hours throughout the day while holding Brynlee, I had to set her in the stroller to watch before my arms fell off!

Cosmo Killed the Easter Bunny!

I am not sure the easter bunny will be making it to our house this year.  At least not if Cosmo has anything to say about it.  I had to herd the girls the other way when I saw cosmo with his newest Catch.

Blowing Bubbles!!!

For this activity we made homemade bubbles and then mixed the bubble solution with paint in a shallow dish.  Then we used a straw to blow bubbles into it until it was a big mound.  We then placed a piece of paper on the bubbles to make a pattern.

Image

This activity was very fun.  Both girls were very excited to be able to blow bubbles with their straw without getting in trouble for it.  It was going great until Jordan accidentally sucked in instead of blowing out.....poor girl.  She then proceeded to throw up all over.  We got her and the kitchen all cleaned up and she wanted to go back to the bubbles.  I then noticed Callen's pan was leaking.  She ran over to check Jordan's and......this is what happened.

Image

I then gave callens bubbles to Jordan since Callen dumped all of hers.  This turned into a huge battle with Callen telling me that she was not going to be my daughter anymore etc etc.   So this activity did not end as well as it started..maybe next time :)

A Craft a day keeps the "missing daddy" blues away :)

I love love pinterest and have found several activities for the kiddos that I want to try.  Time goes faster when we stay busy and my day goes better when I keep the girls busy so we are trying to do at least one craft a day on days we don't have anything else going on.

For this activity the girls filled a pie tin with baking soda and then we colored vinegar with food coloring.  They used droppers and dropped the colored vinegar onto the baking soda and watched the color fizz up.   They both enjoyed this for quite awhile!

Monkey Joes

Monkey Joes is one of Callen's favorite places.  Jordan is starting to enjoy jumping on the bouncy castles but not quite there yet.  She did however like sitting in the car even though i've never put money in to make it run.
