yes, no, maybe?

This little punch needle angel design is from Carriage House Samplings. When I punched it, my plan was to have it made into an hanging ornament. Then, I found this little horn book online and thought it may work out better....

this is just laying on the horn book for now, I'm going to be naughty and glue it down. BUT, what I'm torn about is this....does it need something behind it? Not to protect it from the glue, but to enhance her appeal :-) Like a piece of wool? And if so, should I cut the wool square and then mount it behind the angel, or cut it out along the outline of the angel?

HELP! I need opinions!

And warning....Pug Rear-End shot below....

the picture is a little blurry but I thought it was funny...it's Astro's hind-end

a punch diversion

These days I'm finding it harder and harder to stay focused on just my cross stitch.

There are so many other projects calling my name, but I don't have time to go into it all today. Instead, I'll just share with you a quick project that was started yesterday and finished up this morning.

It's a punch needle project from Carriage House Samplings, called Angel Ornament One.
Here it is in my Morgan Lap Frame, the "back side", which is the side the project is worked from:

And here is the "front". I tend to punch pretty tightly, which can make the project curl up once it's out of the frame, but this one did ok.

The finishing for this will be super easy, just need to find a piece of heavy wool fabric for the back and make a cord.

I really loved the almost instant gratification this project gave me! Oh yes, I too swore for years that I'd never do it, but this is my third completed punch needle project and oh boy! I'm hooked!
And it's wonderful!
