Nancy’s prompt: Shadorma
This week, let’s write shadorma poems.

The shadorma is a compact Spanish syllabic form built from a six-line stanza with a strict syllable pattern: 3 / 5 / 3 / 3 / 7 / 5 (26 syllables total). It is typically unrhymed, and a poem may consist of a single stanza or a series of stanzas.

For this challenge, the theme is Sensory Details.

Reena’s Xploration Challenge #420

Image
From Reena

When darkness fell she battled thoughts as her emotions fought to breathe through the cracks.  Each sunrise came as a scintilla of hope … for light for warmth for life …  but they never quite reached.

Silent fell the tears but fell it did as she waited for that sunrise that held a promise not near fulfilled … and dawned the day her tears begged for a voice –  and it’s here she finally screamed. It echoed around her loud … so painfully loud… violently it vibrated against the cracks…tearing them open at last …

She felt the cracking within her too …

…and she lay amidst the debris, not fully awake yet,  but the warmth from the sun – she felt it …

O’Nika’s prompt: Echo verse

Write an echo poem about a first — first love, first heartbreak, first bike ride, first apartment, first snowfall, first pet, first anything that mattered.
Show us how you felt — excited, embarrassed, afraid, proud, uncertain.
Include at least one variation of one of these words:
Early (earlier, earliest)
Begin (beginning, began, begun, begins)
Primary (primarily, primaries)
Start (start, started, starting, starts)
Let the repetition do some of the emotional work; and have fun with the echo!

#unpromised#

Sadje G’s What do you see

in the fading whispers of fallen leaves … leaves that hold the memory of passing winds …. winds weaving between low hanging branches alive in its viridian green –  they touch softly the amber-washed warmth of this sturdy bridge… and me …

I have stood here before – still searching, still reaching …. these hands clashing then … with nothing. The present had never felt more … empty.

…and now –  the lush branches, the trees in its forest, this bridge, the wind and its fallen leaves, and i … i am here …  present in their presence …

beyond the moment
there exists a period
unpromised by time
