the rest of august

on the way home from lake powell, we stayed at whiskey pete's at the state line. it was awesome, the room was so not bad, at $35 for the night and in the morning we took a dip in the pool. the slide was fun, we may or may not have stuck up to ride it because it wasn't open yet. reading in bed with paisley sleeping next to us with no heat, no wind, no noise, and no blow up mattresses, chris and i thought that this very well could be our favorite part of the trip.

we had lots of summer dinners with corn on the cob.

we had some lazy days...

and some lazy mornings.

and best of all: andrea came to visit! it ended a long standing joke, but we were super happy to show her our place and have a little hang out.

lake powell!

beware: there are entirely too many pictures here. we went to lake powell and basically did it all: wake boarding, water skiing, slalom skiing, tubing, cliff jumping, karaoke singing, reading, fishing, and trying to keep paisley safe/entertained/cool. it was windy this year, like super windy, which made tent sleeping with a toddler, more like tent laying/miserable. not to mention we were one of 3 tents with young children that were all pretty close together. we love spending time with family and friends, i just wish we could have an rv parked on the rock for us-that would be ideal:) we will see if we do this trip next time around, we love it, but it is really, really, hard and just not sure it is worth it with young kids. lake powell is the perfect, ideal vacation for anyone over the age of 8 or so. luckily, andrea was there and she does a lot for my sanity, love that girl! here is a random sampling of our week:

enroute to lake powell

we split up the drive to lake powell with a stop in vegas, where my dad flew in to meet us. we were so thankful to have the sienna with its tv to keep miss paisley entertained. lots of snacks and lots of videos, that is what our drives consisted of.

we of course had to have some cafe rio while there-i seriously love it. i crave it probably once a week, it is brutal to not have one close. i also got to spend a few hours with beautiful becky. it is always great catching up with her and spending some girl time.

we took advantage of the hotel swimming pool and had ourselves a really lovely weekend before the real "vacation" started.

on the drive from vegas to lake powell, we unfortunately took a wrong turn and had to drive through zions national park-which was beautiful but cost us a pretty penny. at least we were stopped for awhile and got some pretty pictures of the area. it was both my dad and mine first time in zions, it was lovely. i would love to spend some more time there. but alas we were lake powell or bust!

early august

in early august we:

1. hosted the very first jensen properties board meeting. all three members were present and we ate yummy sushi and signed a bunch of official paper work.

2. caught this one sleeping like a little angel. oh how i love those cheeks!

3. pais and i went to a beach party with the youth of our ward and enjoyed some beach grub-hot dogs!(ps-can i be tan again please??)

4. paisley and various other related little people really enjoyed zach and shae entertaining them on what pais loving calls the "tramp-a-trine."

we went to the mall one night and instantly decided we needed to be bonzaied, aka some red robin goodness. paisley was being extra cute with chris.
