“Why you are interested in joining toshiba for your career?”
It’s not a hard question to answer for me. It’s just a standard question that will be asked if you are being hired by a company. So, nothing to worry about it.
Sunday, 12 December 2014, i have to attend an 1st interview for toshiba japan company in my home university. After attending several toshiba talk in job fair, I finally got chance to test my luck in applying a job, i was called to the 1st interview!
As my prediction, I will not be asked about the hard skill of mine, but many questions about my experience and my future career if I am accepted in this recruitment process. Here it is, several question that will be asked in first interview in toshiba :
1. Please explain about yourself.
2. Do you have any experiences in going abroad?
3. Do you have a plan to take a master degree? If yes, when it will be and where?
4. Do you get any support from your family for leaving in japan?
5. Why you are interested in joining toshiba? Working in toshiba will be conducted in japanese, do you have a will to learn about japanese?
6. If you are not selected for japan company, we can offer you a job in your home country. It’s okay?
7. What is the greatest achievement in your life?
I think I can answer all questions well but one. The third question. Lol. I said that I plan to take a master degree in computer science after 3 or 4 years from now. I stated that taking a master degree program is important if you want to be an expert in engineering. Bachelor degree is just a piece of cake.
Okay, as my predicition, I will be asked about my statement in registration form. There, i stated that I want to have more than 10 years experience working in toshiba. And it’ s totally different with my statement on the interview.
To be honest, I want to have an experience in real working environment to develop my hard and soft skill but I also have a big dream to learn more about CS in a master degree programme. I hope I can get a chance to take a mastee degree after several years working experience in toshiba and go back to toshiba afterwards. Unfortunately, she said there is no opportunity for it. You have to finish your master degree before applying and working in toshiba. But I kept my statement because I dont want to be a fool who always change it’s mind. Working is important but taking master degree is more important if you want to make huge effect of technology.
Actually I dont expect much in this interview process. But this process teach me how to keep your principal đ I also believe that god has something good for me in the future. So why we need to worry ? đ
