Progress...
Well, I weighed in last night and measured. The results are as follows:
I'm down 9.4 lbs (and that was AFTER eating dinner)
Bust measurement is down 1.5"
Hips measurement is down 1.5"
Thigh measurement is down 1/2"
I've increased my weight tolerance at the gym...I'm now pressing 90 on my legs, 80 on my arms, and 150 on my abs. (this is all on machines, not free weights) I do 30 minutes of cardio on the bicycle every morning and then do weight machines for about 20 minutes each morning.
Supaman is playing tennis almost every day with Cap'n Donk, and they go to the gym almost every day, too. He is definitely making some progress. I keep telling him that I can tell he is losing weight. He smiles a little bit more every time I tell him. :)

Lifestyle changes
Well, Supaman and I decided to make a few lifestyle changes so that we could drop some of this pesky weight we've been carrying around for so long. We started on a low-carb diet this month, and the results are already encouraging. Supaman started on the diet somewhere around the 20th of January, and in the 3 weeks he has been on the diet, he has already dropped 30 pounds and shed 1 1/2 inches off his belly alone! I am so proud of my Superman! He is super pumped about the results, too. We both have a ways to go, but I know that with hard work and keeping at it, we can do it!
I started the diet on February 1st, adding it to my regime of exercising for 45-50 minutes every morning during the week. I lost 5 pounds in the first week, and I am still workin at it! I did low-carb when I was in high school and dropped a bunch of weight then, too so I know I can do this! I've got more to lose now than I did back then, but I'm confident in my abilities. :)
Wish us luck! We've got a ways to go, but we know we can do it! :)

Quilt Update
I have pictures! :)
The quilt started as two king-size flat sheets, which I cut into strips:

And then into squares:

I sewed the squares together to form strips, and then sewed the strips together:

Once all the strips were sewed together, I had a king-size quilt topper, which I've laid out on the living room floor so that I can tie it and make sure it all fits together:

This is a close-up of my fabric patterns:
(The whole quilt is flannel...so soft!)

And I wouldn't have been able to get any of this done without my wonderful hubby, who bought me this fabulous sewing machine: (Thanks, sweetheart!)

I'll definitely be posting pictures when it is tied, and then when it is finished! :)

Christmas Decorations
Okay, I finally got the batteries to work on my camera long enough to get some pictures taken. :)
Our Christmas tree all lit up and decorated. (We're getting more and more ornaments as the years progress. This year, we got several of the candy-filled candy cane tubes and used them as edible ornaments.)

Supaman's stockings...one from when he was little, and one that his aunt sent to him on his mission. :)

My stocking that my mother made me.

Other various decorations...the dancing, whistling penguin we got at Bryant Park in New York, the dear santa pillow that my sister gave to us, the singing polar bear/penguin that Supaman's momma got for us, etc...

And then this was our gingerbread house this year. We have so much fun designing and making these things every year. :)

Merry Christmas from our home to yours! :)

Christmas at Casa de Supa
Well, Santa was very good to us this year. We both received several gifts that made us smile. :)
Supaman got a powermat wireless charging system and a receiver case for his iPod touch, a dust mask for when he does yard work, and a dock for his cell phone. He also got a Swiss army knife from his uncle, who drew his name this year for the family gift exchange. Thanks, Tom! :)
Merv got several things she had her eye on this year. Supaman got her a sewing machine, (which has already been put to good use) a new shirt, some slippers, a new dough hook for her kitchen aid mixer, and the slicing/shredding attachment for the kitchen aid mixer. Thanks, hunny! She also got a pair of fuzzy slippers and a new set of earrings from her cousin, who drew her name for the family gift exchange this year. Thanks, Seth! :)
We got some lovely gifts from our family this year, too. Supa's mom got us the Old & New Testament & Church History for LDS Families books, to go along with the Book of Mormon that Supaman got before his mission. (Thanks, mom!) Papa Bear got us tickets to go see the Dallas Mavericks play on the 28th, and we are excited to go! They also got us a couple of gift cards to some yummy restaurants so that we can go out on a couple of dates together. Gotta love the in-laws! :)
Supaman's cousin and her husband got us an ornament for our tree that was very cute. It is a ball-shaped penguin ornament that is dressed in a scarf & santa hat. VERY cute! Thanks, Lyndi & Justin! :)
Memaw & Papaw (Supa's grandparents) got us the DVD study helps that go along with D&C and Church History, since that is what we are studying this year in Institute. Thanks, Memaw & Papaw! :)
Merv's parents sent us a box full of goodies this year! Mom had made us a batch of Heath fudge and sent it, along with a few ornaments for our tree, and some of the cold weather from out East. It finally got cold around here late in the evening of the 23rd. While it did not provide a white Christmas, it did make it feel a lot more like Christmas. :)
Thank you to everyone who helped to make this year special to us. We were so grateful to have family with us as we celebrated the greatest gift that was ever given to man, God's gift to each of us: His own son, Jesus Christ. We hope the New Year will bring you many opportunities to share that gift with those around you. Love to all! :)
