Blank Page Muse - Gift Bags for Fall

I love to take a small gift when I am invited to dinner, lunch, a small gathering to the host. It could be teas, coffee, chocolates depending on what the event is or who the host is.  When I take these gifts, I like to put them in a gift bag.  I used to only make my gift bags in a pinch when I did not have time to run to the store and pick a gift bag up.  Now I make them ahead and have them on hand.  I make them for all occasions, Birthdays, Christmas and host gifts.  Today I am using A Cozy Fall Harvest with a few tags from the At Home Fall Harvest digital paper collections for the Fall and Thanksgiving season.

First, I fussy cut flowers, leaves from the A Cozy Fall Harvest and tags from the At Home Fall Harvest

Image

Then I created tags for each of the bags with the fussy flowers, leaves and tags.  Using a cropadile punch a hole for the twine used to hang the tag from the handle of the bag!

Image
You can recycle any for this project, I am covering the logos on them. If I would like specific colors I may pick up a package of small bags a the dollar store.

Image

I printed panels to adhere to the front of the bags and the tags coordinated with the panels. The gnome panel has a gnome tag.

Image

The fox panel has a fox tag. The papers for the panels were digitally reduced in size to fit the bags.

Image

The sunflowers have a sunflower tag. Each tag has twine

Image
The pumpkins have a pumpkin tag. This panel also has a large mat as it will go on a larger bag

I will add a little tissue and a big bow. I wait to put the big bow on the bag until I am ready to use it for easy storage.  I cannot tell you the last time I bought gift wrap, except for tissue paper.

Hope you enjoyed these gift bags.

Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Spray Gathered Twigs
Cosmic Shimmer Airless Spray Meadow Moss

Create a master board. Use watercolor paper or other mixed media paper for the base.  Glue scraps of paper to the base.  Be sure all edges are secure. Then spray with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Spray Gathered Twigs and Cosmic Shimmer Airless Spray Meadow Moss.

Image

When the spray is dry stencil with the Leaves Collage from Blank Page Muse. The stenciling is done with Lunar Paste Refined Copper on the master board.

Image

I got out a couple of dies and my mini scout die cutting machine.

Image

Die cut Thanks! The thanks were cut from one of the digital pumpkins, then layered on a brown cardstock shadow.

I die cut leaf and from a couple of the tags from the digital collection.

Image

Fussy cut images you decide to use. I like to cut too many pieces than not enough for a card then I have choices. Once I start fussy cutting I cannot stop.

Image

After all the images are fussy cut, distress with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Spray Gathered Twigs, then you are ready to adhere images.   Even embellish the inside of the card too.

Image

A fussy cut large sunflower and pumpkin with a couple of die cut leaves are inside this card.

Image

On the front of the card there is a fussy cut tag at the bottom of the card. At the bottom of the card, I added a strip of adhesive paper lace.  A dress was adhered with dimensional foam. The dress is surrounded by a couple of pumpkins, three different sizes of sunflowers, and a die cut leaf. Then the thanks was added to the front of the dress.

Image
Finally, a few gems were randomly glued for a little bling!
Hope you enjoyed this card.

Halloween Tag Decor

Do you decorate for Halloween? I love Halloween. October has to be one of my favorite months of the year!  Today I took several of the tags from the Creepy Cute Halloween Digital Papers Printables and made them into a card that could also be Halloween decor. The accordion of tags will fold flat for mailing; it may need additional postage.

Image
This project is a combination of Blank Page Muse Creepy Cute Halloween digital papers, a few Halloween Stamps and some dies from my stash.

Image

First stamp the sentiments and images you want to use on the tags with black ink. Fussy cut the number of tags desired for the project. The tags above do not have any of the dies added. The tags below have Halloween dies added to them.

Image

Add random Halloween dies to the tags to add dimension. Off the top of the tag with the flying witch add a yellow moon. This made the two center tags about the same height.

Edge the tags and sentiments with a Wide tip black Sharpie or Acrylic marker

Create the base
  • For the base cut black paper 2 1/2 inches by however long it will need to be to mount all of the tags.
  • Lay all the tags on the black paper leaving an equal gap between each tag.
  • Adhere the tags to the black paper.
  • In between each tag score the black paper.
  • Fold the score lines creating an accordion fold.

Adhere the sentiments to the tags as pictured

Staple ribbons to the four tags without anything at the top.

Blank Page Muse Steampunk Edgar Allan Poe

My second project this month for Blank Page Muse.

Two things I love are Steampunk and Edgar Allan Poe. Blank Page Muse actually has two different size
Edgar Allan Poe stamps of the image I used on my card today. For my project I used the larger of the two. All the papers and printed images are from the digital printable papers, Steampunk Romance.  What is great about using digital papers is sizing.  You can manipulate the size of the papers and images with your computer.

Stamps from Blank Page Muse used on this card

Image
Other Supplies:
Distress Oxide Gathered Twigs Ink
Versa Fine Black Onyx Ink
Tissue paper
Wide tip black Sharpie
Dimensional foam and double-sided adhesive

Image

Print the digital printable papers, Steampunk Romance. paper to the desired size and fussy cut the flowers.  I made the flower 3 different sizes.
Image
Image
I stamped the pen nib image with VersaFine Black Onyx directly on the card mat base. Also, stamped the postage stamp randomly on the mat, each time I inked the stamp I would stamp off before stamping directly on the mat. I stamp the ink bottle and fussy cut.

Image

On a another piece of the patten papers from the Steampunk Romance collection I stamped Edgar Allan Poe, then masked him off with tissue paper and then stamped the Steampunk Watch Face Rubber Stamp, behind his head.

Image
I work on a big piece of tissue.  the tissue image of the pen nibs I used on the card. I carefully torn them from the large sheet.
Image
Before adhering the mat to the base of the easel, edge the card mat and the paper with the stamped image of Edgar Allan Poe with a wide tip black Sharpie or other acrylic pen. If you desire ink fussy cut edges with Distress Oxide Gathered Twigs Ink or similar color.

Image

To assemble attach the paper with the stamped image of Edgar Allan Poe first. This will over lap the first five of the stamped images of the pen nibs. Adhere the first five tissue stamped pen nibs directly over the pen nibs stamped on the card mat.
Image
Adhere the corner flower paper to the upper left of the card. For dimension add a large flower the same size over the flower. Tuck a smaller flower under the lower left of the large flower.

Image

With dimensional foam attach the ink bottle and three additional flowers as pictured.

Image

Add a strip of paper to the bottom of the inside with dimensional foam to create a stopper when opening the card.  Add fussy cut flowers to the stopper.

Hope this inspires you to try the Blank Page Muse digital papers found HERE
