All our October Events!!

Happy #7 Birthday Caleb!
We held a Scooby Doo (his favorite show) birthday party for Caleb this year. Caleb was really excited to see many of his friends there to support him; they all had fun playing the "Mystery" games and eating yummy food. Caleb recieved some really nice things from everyone. We'd like to say thank you to everyone who came.Image

Image This is the first snowfall of the year. We all get so excited, our kids get all their snow gear out so they can go outside and play in the first fallen snow. It is tradition for mom to turn the Christmas music on and make hot chocolate for the kids when they come in. They had lots of fun!

Image Conference weekend, after conference was over on Sunday we decided to take a drive up big Cottonwood canyon for fun. We packed hot chocolate and parked in a place Jon used to come and read before his mission. We read our scriptures together, then got out to see the beautiful mountain side and the snow falling. It was fun.

We were able to participate in the "Luekemia and Lymphoma society" walk for a dear and close friend who died of luekemia 2 years ago. It was nice to see so many people there supporting the cause. Though we continue to miss Tyler, it was nice to participate in the walk to remember him.

Image We made some time to go to the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point. Though it was windy and on the verge of rain, we still had a great time. The kids got to do all sorts of fun Halloween things including riding the ponies to going in a kid haunted house. I was glad we went, because we also were able to pick our pumpkins which we only paid a buck for. It was cool!

Image This wasn't one of the pumpkins we picked...ha ha ha. The kids were amazed at how big this pumpkin was.
Image And last but not least, we made halloween cookies and cousin Katelyn joined in the fun too.
Image Then of coarse we finised up our month of October with fun "Trunk and Trick or treating around the neighborhood.

Image Then when Jon got back with the kids, we ate pizza and had time to wind down before bed...we found Brookie like this after the boys went to sleep.
Image And that was our October events. Now we can't wait for Thanksgiving!

Logan's finger miracle

Image Many of you can remember Logan's accident with his fingertip. We have taken pictures as his finger has healed.
Once again, I am sorry if this is a bit graphic for some of you but we thought you'd like to see how it's coming along.
This first picture is the week after Logan hurt his finger, he is in pre-school and had to wear this full thick cast for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks we saw the doctor and saw Logan's finger for the first time after the accident...we were all very nervous. The Doctor said it was still too early to tell whether his finger would take but that from his perspective things were looking hopeful.
We were instructed to treat Logan's finger everyday with peroxide and an oinment, then rewrap his finger and hand putting the long hard cast back on to prevent him from bumping it. The doctor told us if he bumped it at all or something were to hit it, he would lose the tip for good. For 3 more weeks, we stressed over performing the doctors orders, trying to be as careful as we could.

Image These pictures are a couple days after we saw the Dr. We are very hopeful, and things are looking promising. His old nail that the doctor put back in after sewing his fingertip on, fell off after 4 days of treating it. Then little by little the dead skin that was sewed on (the black part) started to fall off and a new finger tip started to form.

Image With Logan's progress, we felt comfortable enough to put him in a hand cast. Jon made him some finger splints to protect his finger from getting bumped. He was glad to get rid of the big hard cast, it was really irritating and scraping his skin.

These other pictures are after 1 week of treatment. He is starting to grow a new nail and the black is almost completely off with a few stiches still attached.Image When all the black was completely off and Logan saw his finger he cried out with excitement, "Mom, Dad it looks really good huh, it's going to look like my other finger!"
He was so worried it would look different than all his other fingers.Image

These last 2 pictures I took just yesterday.

Image This is both of his middle fingers side by side...absolutely amazing! We are so grateful with how well Logan's finger has healed, and thank all those who showed their concern, love and support and kept Logan in their prayers through this difficult time. We feel so blessed and know that the Lord gave us a miracle. I can't say enough times how grateful I am for the power of the priesthood, and we will forever be grateful for this sweet tender mercy for our sweet little boy.
