Happy #7 Birthday Caleb!
We held a Scooby Doo (his favorite show) birthday party for Caleb this year. Caleb was really excited to see many of his friends there to support him; they all had fun playing the "Mystery" games and eating yummy food. Caleb recieved some really nice things from everyone. We'd like to say thank you to everyone who came.
We were able to participate in the "Luekemia and Lymphoma society" walk for a dear and close friend who died of luekemia 2 years ago. It was nice to see so many people there supporting the cause. Though we continue to miss Tyler, it was nice to participate in the walk to remember him.
Many of you can remember Logan's accident with his fingertip. We have taken pictures as his finger has healed.
Once again, I am sorry if this is a bit graphic for some of you but we thought you'd like to see how it's coming along.
This first picture is the week after Logan hurt his finger, he is in pre-school and had to wear this full thick cast for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks we saw the doctor and saw Logan's finger for the first time after the accident...we were all very nervous. The Doctor said it was still too early to tell whether his finger would take but that from his perspective things were looking hopeful.
We were instructed to treat Logan's finger everyday with peroxide and an oinment, then rewrap his finger and hand putting the long hard cast back on to prevent him from bumping it. The doctor told us if he bumped it at all or something were to hit it, he would lose the tip for good. For 3 more weeks, we stressed over performing the doctors orders, trying to be as careful as we could. These pictures are a couple days after we saw the Dr. We are very hopeful, and things are looking promising. His old nail that the doctor put back in after sewing his fingertip on, fell off after 4 days of treating it. Then little by little the dead skin that was sewed on (the black part) started to fall off and a new finger tip started to form.
These other pictures are after 1 week of treatment. He is starting to grow a new nail and the black is almost completely off with a few stiches still attached.
He was so worried it would look different than all his other fingers.
