We are now Cougars!

Saturday Liz and I had the fun opportunity of attending the BYU opener against Northern Iowa. It was alot of fun for both of us. Liz had never been to a college football game so it was her first experience. I had been going to ISU for a year and a half and never felt like attending a bengal slaughtering along with the other 10 fans that would have been there. So now we are in Cougar town and were excited! BYU played really well the first half and I think they were tiring out the ROTC guys that have to do all the pushups. But when the 3rd quarter came around they started playing really sloppy. They had three fumbles just in the 3rd quarter. Luckily Nothern Iowa wasn't that good so they were able to hold on and increase their lead in the fourth quarter to make it a reasonable win. So sit back and enjoy some of our pictures of the game and a video of the touchdown.

A sweet touchdown in the 2nd quarter!

Lets all take a moment to be serious...

Ha ha! I saw this comic today and it cracked me up! It's the Mother Goose Grim comic for Sunday the 31st. This is a hilarious example of Global Warming fanatics and how I respond. Now I have nothing against being responsible and taking care of the planet. For those of you who do, well done. But when people use fear and deceit to push their agenda that is wrong. So a I just thought I would share my good laugh for the day.

Three Month Anniversary!

Image Yeah! We have been married for 3 months today! It is amazing! I love being married. JD is so wonderful and sweet! Even though we haven't been married long, it is hard to think of when we were single and didn't have such an amazing roommate! I couldn't ask for a better one! I have my best friend, my listening ear, my motivation, my love, my everything! We have so much fun and truly I wake up everyday grateful to have JD by my side! I am excited for the future! And by the way, Steve- thanks for forgetting the flowers- they smell wonderful :)

Our sweet weekend

So this weekend for the Egberts was buckets o' fun. My cousin Alisha got married on Friday so my family was down for the weekend and my Mom and Pops decided to sleep on our floor. If you've been to our apartment you know our whole 300 or so square feet are already busting at the seams. So it was fun to have a blow up mattress on our floor and only have walking room left. My prego sister Nicole and her husband Steve also came over saturday morning to bust out the games. They will be moving to California shortly for dental school and they will be missed. Then on Saturday night after all of the fam was gone we hung out with our pals, Scott and Wendy. We're glad they put up with us.Image Every one getting their game on. Don't be fooled by Steve's smile, he was out for blood. He always wins all the games we play but Blokus, so he was going to be sure to win a round.
Image This is me and my love with Nicole and Steve. I guess technically Jackson is in the picture too! Thats going to be the name of their baby boy.

ImageAh, game time with the Hickenloopers. Good Times. Don't let those smiles fool you, Scott took everyone out in Thurn and Taxis.

Yeah for Babies

Image

Hehehe, Hey everyone! I have a job! Bet you can't guess where? I am going to be a Newborn ICU nurse! How about that! I start on Monday and I am pumped! I have really loved the residency program and loved getting to know people, but believe me I am ready to settle down and make some friends and get to work! Life is so crazy, I can't believe how things just come full circle and keep you on your toes! I was orignally wanting to work in the NICU and I got into the residency instead and loved pretty much every unit I was on so I am glad the Lord has continued to guide me to where I need to go. So wish me luck!

Sunday Sermon

Image Today was a great fast Sunday. I really enjoyed testimony meeting and felt a renewed desire to try harder. There was an interesting testimony that also had to do with the lesson JD and I taught in Gospel Doctrine. He talked about how easy we have it to have the gospel in our lives. In our lesson Alma teaches his son Helaman to be watchful and not be slothful because of the easiness of the way. Earlier this week when I read a verse earlier in the chapter, Alma tells his son that it is as easy for us to have faith and walk the straight course to eternal bliss as it was for Lehi and his family to follow the directions on the Liahona to the promise land. I was marvelling at the simplicity of the Lord's directions when JD pointed out that it was not easy for some, meaning Laman and Lemuel. At the end of chapter 37 Alma tells his son Helaman that we must look to God and live. It really is that simple, have faith and look to God. One of the comments from the class members was that to look to God means to be constantly turning toward Him, by our actions, our thoughts, our words, and our dilligence to His words. So this week I am going to try to more fully have faith in God's plan for me and turn more to Him by the things I do and say.
