August was a busy month for us! JD took the bar the last three days of July and I worked a few shifts in a row then we packed up and drove to Idaho for a vacation! Since we don't know where we will end up we thought we better take advantage of time without work to tie us down. We were able to spend a week with each of our families and see everyone! Literally it has been three years since we were face to face with some of them! We drove up just in time to hit up my cousin Audrey's wedding and take some candid shots at the reception. We stayed a couple nights with our good friends the Hickenloopers and enjoyed some time to catch up! We spent a few days in Poky at my parents home with most of the family and highlights included lots of resting while the kiddos played in the dirt of Grandma Redd's garden and made a carpet of legos in the basement. Also a baby shower for Emma and family pictures with ALL of us! The end of that week we went to Idaho Falls and had a reunion of sorts for 3 days! Huge thanks to Sarah and Joni and Mom for putting it all together. We had so much fun! We walked the Greenbelt, checked out Mesa Falls, visited the Japanese Gardens, played at the park, went swimming, played at a splash park, and ate lots of good food! It was nice to catch up with everyone and I am grateful we were all able to get together.
The next week was Egbert family time. Jenna got me to go to Jazzercise with her a couple times, gave my hair a makeover, and spoiled the kiddos. We enjoyed family pictures, going to West Yellowstone to see Beauty and the Beast at the Playmill, going to the temple, playing at the park, swimming at Green Canyon, extended family get together, going to a movie and playing games. Overall it was a great vacation. We got some relaxing in and enjoyed the chance to be with family. I am so grateful we got the chance to go.
So here are the photos in not any particular order. I will narrate!
A sweet photo I took at Mesa Falls.
Hitting up the splash park in Rexburg after Mesa Falls, Cami was tired and it took me going up on the toy and getting drenched to get her to play, but the picture below is proof it worked.
BBQ at Joni and Chase's. I took the opportunity to practice taking candid photos.

Swimming. More candid photos...
At the Egberts playing with cousins. I have to say that possibly the best part about our vacation was that Cami had cousins and family entertaining her pretty much all of the time. That meant a significant break for JD and I which was pretty much awesome. Cami loved it and has very much missed having so many playmates.
Baby Grace...who turned one!
I loved her cake picutres...she was such a dainty eater and carefully ate all the blueberries first.
Painting a birdhouse
Cami loves Nana and Grandpa's trampoline. She even jumped on it in the rain...you can't really tell but in the picture below it is pouring and she is drenched, but still jumping!
Visiting the Hickenloopers. This was a rare moment when they were asleep. They were like sisters, great together sometimes and not so great together other times :)
Wendy and I...I miss being close to our buddies!
Enjoying the Japanese Gardens..
And the Greenbelt.
Mesa Falls again...yep all those people are part of my family! We made quite the crowd everywhere we went.
the sisters!
Taking a picture of someone taking a selfie? I am sure it is a thing right?!
More candid shots
Egbert Family Photos! I put our tripod and remote to good use. Also Jenna took several of these as well.
Joni let me take her maternity pictures. They are such a photogenic family! I loved taking them. It was lots of fun!
Redd Family Photos! I am so glad Joni set this up with Tasha to take. She did a wonderful job and it was amazing to get us all together.
Swimming at Green Canyon. Cami and Jackson were quite the dare devils!
A Mesa Falls one from the phone...
Grandma made a little slip and slide for the kiddos. They had lots of fun!
Audrey's Wedding!
Playing at school while Nana set up some things for a new school year.
Checking out the Teton Dam... or where it used to be anyway.
We went shooting one day during our Redd reunion while the kiddos napped. Here is Joni trying out the shotgun. It was fun to have some adult time. I got 4 out of 12 with the shotgun!
We checked out the new Art museum in Idaho Falls...not going to lie it was pretty small and not very interesting, but Cami and Justin enjoyed the green screen corner.
JD and I relaxing in the hammock at my parents.
More from the Greenbelt walk.
Playing at the park with uncle Andrew. They were playing swords and Cami found a way around the game and touched him with her other finger..thats my smart girl!
Swinging on the swing at Grandma Redd's with the cousins.
At Emma's baby shower.
Playing in the dirt at Grandma Redd's...the kids loved it and got filthy!
and yes she is in her pjs in the afternoon playing in the dirt. I am a wonderful mother, I know!
Emma's baby shower, and it rained right at the end and we had to run bring everything inside before it got wet!
More dirt!
All in all so fun and so full of gratitude for our wonderful families. Now we are just waiting to see where life takes us next! I am excited for the next chapter of our lives and in the mean time I will work and take it a day at a time!
