These next couple weeks are going to be a little crazy with moving so I thought I better catch up on the blog so that I wouldn't miss too much!
After our lovely spring break we got ready for Easter!!
This was the Easter party at Cami's school. The kids are all lined up for the hunt. Cami insisted on wearing her bunny ears and a little pink paper taped to her nose so she could be a bunny. It was so cute and funny to see her running about getting eggs with those ears falling down around her eyes.
And they are off. Cami is super speedy and I think she was ahead of when I took this picture.
Checking out the spoils...
I am not sure that I had heard of confetti eggs before moving here. I think it is a tradition in Mexico that has been soaked up here in south Texas. It is fun and Cami loves it.
I wish I had an after picture of this popsicle. It got everywhere. Cami is a very enthusiastic eater- which translates to pretty much every other facet of her life.
That weekend we embarked on our first ever camping trip in Texas, without JD! JD was in the middle of getting ready for a big trial and so we went solo. It was a ward campout though so I had tons of help. Cami was running and playing all day and was exhausted by bed time so it was great for me!
This picture is a reference to the move the Good Dinosaur and families. The little boy shows his family by sticks and draws a circle around them. It must have made an impression on Cami. It made me laugh though so I took a picture to show JD.
We had heard there where alligators in the lake so we went to see if we could see any, but only saw a turtle. Other people were more lucky, We did see some armadillos though and heard lots of raccoon running around.
Cami enjoyed the scavenger hunt that was for the activity day girls but they allowed all the little girls to join in.
She also loved playing whiffle ball. She had some pretty good form too. Perhaps we should try teeball next.
Easter Egg hunt with the ward. She was super excited for a sparkly egg.
Singing around the campfire. We have some very talented people in our ward.
Yet another egg hunt that the campground put on. We ended up with a ridiculous number of eggs from all the hunts this year, but she had fun so I guess that is the point. She is kinda choosy so she didn't get as many as she could have so that is good at least.
Dressed up in her Easter best, thanks to Nana and Grandpa Egbert.
Dying eggs. JD was able to go to church with us and hear the primary sing Gethsemane during sacrament, but then had to work the rest of the day getting ready for trial on Monday.
Planting flowers at the after school program, she decorated the pot and was very proud of her "kindergarten coloring" which means she works very hard to stay in the lines and not "scribble scrabble".
This video is of Cami reading her Easter book. She is doing so well and has such expression.
They have an annual bike rodeo at her school where they learn about bike safety and get to show off their skills. Cami was so excited and she loved it! I helped out most of the morning with it and it was fun to watch.
Cami with her particiaption ribbon.
All the participants were entered in a drawing for a helmet for each gender in each grade level and Cami won for kindergarten. She was so excited! Her sweet teacher took pictures for me since I wasn't there at the assembly. Ever since we had ridden the bike to and from school with her sweet helmet. She has grown in confidence which is so good. I was trying to figure out a way to get her on her bike more and so I was very grateful this happened.
Due to a small miracle of JD's trial finishing after only one week and not going into the next JD was able to be home for conference weekend. Saturday was a little busy with a soccer game and a birthday party for one of Cami's soccer buddies and then conference as well, but it was a great day and we loved having JD home.
The birthday party was at a skating rink and Cami tried it out for the first time. Luckily they had these great beginner skates that made it way less slippery and much more easy to balance. Cami loved it and was so excited.
After the campout and the whiffle ball, Cami really wanted to play baseball. So we got a nerf like bat and ball and Cami has been playing with those a lot. She loves it.
Pillow fight after conference to get our wiggles out.
Cami at soccer practice. She has improved so much this year and is much more willing to go after the ball. Now to learn about working as a team player :). She scored her first goal this year at her second to last game. She is in a little bit older division with some really good players on her team, so she was super excited to score. She just has one more game this Saturday, but we have really enjoyed this soccer season. She has had a great coach and learned a lot and had so much fun.
My 24 week bump. Our little guy had a big growth spurt these past couple weeks so I feel big already, but still have a ways to go! He is super active just like Cami so that is reassuring, but a little uncomfortable for me sometimes!
We have so much to be grateful for and I am excited for the next month and getting moved into our new place. We are supposed to close tomorrow and move the next weekend so it will be busy around here, but I am so excited!
