One month and other craziness

This past month has been a little crazy. Recovery has been a little rocky for me partly because I don't really know how to take it easy, but also because there is a bit on my plate. Cami started 1st grade at a new school and we are lucky to car pool so that helps a bunch. I have learned a lot about accepting help and lately been quite the service project! Cami loves her new school and is making friends and learning lots. We got this balance bike to see if it would help her transition to riding without training wheels.
JD had a rough labor day and by consequence me when he started off the holiday at 1 a.m. in abdominal pain. Finally around 7 we called our friends the Cluffs. Cory came and drove JD to the ER and his wife Rebecca came over and watched the kids once I had fed Ollie and then I went and stayed with JD. He found out he had appendicitis and then they transferred him to another hospital for the surgery since they were booked. It was a very long day. the next day Ollie had his one month appointment and we waited on the Dr to round all day and finally got to pick up JD from the hospital while another friend Miranda watched the kids and put them to bed. It was a little crazy. I was just starting to feel like I could get back into things with young women's and handle some of the housework, and was relying on JD still and now I need to take care of him and handle everything and I am not all the way recovered yet...
But!! We just take it a day at a time and I am learning to let things go, like that the dishes aren't always done, and dinner isn't anything special and my floors aren't swept and I don't always finish folding the laundry and etc... I am usually such a perfectionist about my housework and cooking so this is difficult along with accepting help, but I have had so much help this past month and I have been humbled and grateful. It has helped me have a greater desire to help others and not just if it is convenient because people dropped things and helped us in such an unselfish way. I truly feel blessed.

This picture makes me laugh because Cami was saying " I will never change a poopy diaper!" oh someday you will Cami, someday you will!

First Day!! She was so excited! She has so much enthusiasm! I love it!

There is nothing like cuddling your sweet little sleeping baby!

I think this was our 2 week picture? As a side note Cami loves this truck. She cleans with it and wants to sit in it and push it everywhere...it might get worn out before Ollie gets to play with it ;)

Also we decided we needed a new car- another element of change and stress since now we have a car payment again, but I will admit the third row was something we felt like we needed and I really really like this car!

Our handsome sweet boy..still trying to figure out a schedule and get into a routine, but we will get there.

We decided to see if we could do it..Ollie wasn't super thrilled about it when we took it but the idea was there right?

JD really wanted me to make a BYU onesie to celebrate the start of football season! Turned out pretty well even if I do say so myself.
Image
JD wanted to document several firsts- first time being hosipitalized, first time in an ambulance, first time having surgery and etc... not fun firsts but hey at least you don't actually need your appendix!

Aunt Nicole sent us this gigantic squash mostly for a good laugh and it did exactly that! So funny what you can send in the mail! So grateful for support of family and friends. I feel blessed and very loved. Life is crazy sometimes and knowing you have a Savior who loves you and understands and friends to help pick you up makes it all ok.
