This day let us each one determine with WORD, WORSHIP, and REMEMBRANCE of what Christ did for us at Calvary to polish the LIGHT OF CHRIST as He walks with us so it will be seen by others.
A kind word. A smile, An act of Gentle concern expressed.
LET YOUR LIGHT BE VISIBLE MORE BRIGHTLY IN THIS secular world.
In this often dangerous and more stressful world I hate losing images I have saved., This morning I again lost the amusing image of Snoopy with a line of jam jars labelled with the various blessings gained by us as redeemed children of God.
I googled and \this is the image which came,
He is singing into this day……BECAUSE HE LIVES! And JESUS IS LORD!
Maybe not amusing but sincere and loving greetings to you ALL.
The Old Testament shows that Solomon in his day asked God for the Gift of Wisdom. He inherited wisdom from his Father David,
Some of us as well have inherited wisdom from past generations. Solomon’s life showed his Gift from God was often diluted by cultural and ‘other’ influences.
Thank God that because of Christ’s death at Calvary we who have chosen to follow Him, have inherited Godly Wisdom from God the Holy Spirit who is the SPIRIT OF WISDOM ,
For us it is a free Gift of Grace.
But do we take advantage of it as His blood-bought children?.
We have the WRITTEN WORD as our handbook. Do we ask God for decisions we make as we journey onward or do we let our own wisdom take control?
Father this Sunday morning we affirm that only Godly Wisdom from above confirmed by the Holy WORD and holding tenaciously to the Saviour’s Hand will keep us walking safely in HIS Way.
I found dealing with the journey in my life of eye lid surgery and a feeling of NEEDING to rest it was memories which became my greatest spiritual struggle.
I kept remembering faces from the past who had journeyed with me in life’s struggles. Many had not made their destination. Others had simply disappeared from view. I surrendered these memories to God along with Memories of the journeys and other troubling images.
I tried to focus forward and live one day at a time with the PAST behind me.
UNTIL one memory surfaced during the night which was so BEAUTIFUL and INSPIRATIONAL it gave me renewed STRENGTH and purpose.
I REALIZED in that memory that because my Saviour had been with me on the WAY all memories had a sacred place in His Heart and I learned a lesson I now cherish.
All memories have a place like what we focus on in our daily lives. We must focus on the beautiful and l,eave PAST pain behind but and look to the future and journey onward.
With HIM beside us all memories are sanctified by His Grace if we focus on the positive.
On our church calendar ASH WEDNESDAY begins a SEASON Called LENT. This is most remembered in traditional churches as a time of FASTING.
On our senior years JOURNEY we will remember without ritual guidelines but begin this journey towards the Easter remembrance with renewed thankfulness for the sacrifice made so long ago at Calvary. WE WILL with CONFESSION.and the desire for CLEAN PURE HEARTS before our SAVIOUR, keep walking one day at a time onwards.
May He give to us all His Grace and Strength this mid week morning to focus forward, Ever onwards.
