Verdict is in.

Thursday afternoon we went in for our ultrasound. Mason and Cooper went with us. Shiloh stayed with her aunt Julia. I'm sure Shiloh was only spoiled just a little bit and loved every minute of it. We told the tech that we didn't want the boys to know what the sex of the baby was, so to just type either XX or XY on the screen when that time came. The baby had its face smashed up against my uterus the whole time, so we were not able to get a great profile picture.

If you can't tell by the picture, or don't know what the XX means, it's a GIRL!

The ultrasound also indicated that she is measuring 15 days smaller than she should, so my due date has been changed from August 14th to August 29th. Not exactly what I wanted to hear. You get to be pregnant two weeks longer than you thought. Gee thanks. I go back in for another ultrasound in four weeks to measure growth again. This is to make sure she grows at the rate she should over a four week period. Hopefully she cooperates more next time and doesn't smash her face against my uterus again.

Friday night we had a gender party. My friend Corrine helped me frost all these bad boys. Thanks Corrine for all your help.

We asked everyone to dress in either pink or blue to show what they thought/hoped the baby would be. We had just over 30 people at our house. It's great having lots of people over, but it can be overwhelming at times too. Epically when someone wants to talk to you, tries to get your attention, you don't hear them (due to 30+ other people talking), they then get offended, get mad, and leave without even attempting to say bye. No.....this didn't happen. I'm just sayin' it would suck if THAT did happened. psh.

Mason and Cooper digging into their cupcakes to find out the baby was.

Overall, I'm really happy the baby is a girl. I was actually really hoping for a girl.

We are framing in our loft area and are almost done with everything. Painting, doors, and trim, then it's done!

This will become Shiloh and the baby's room. It's a little bit bigger of a room than the one Shiloh is in now. Plus, Shiloh's room is currently over the garage and gets pretty hot in the summer and pretty cold in the winter, and I'm sure the sound of the garage door opening when she's trying to sleep is pretty annoying.

Mason and Cooper will stay together in the room they are currently in.

Shiloh's room is going to become a workout/craft/misc room. At first I wanted to make it a guest bedroom, but since we don't ever have any house guests, we figure the room will get way more use as an exercise/craft room.

If the baby had been a boy, we would have needed all three rooms for kids, so we wouldn't have had the option to make either a guest room or an exercise/craft room. It all works out well in my book.

Mason's school work

Mason has brought home some pretty interesting and funny work from school. Here are just a few from the past month or two.
Image
This one says: My mom is so special. I love it when she bakes cookies. I appreciate when she helps me when I'm hurt. I (heart) my mom.
Then the blue guy (Mason) is saying: "can I help you with the laundry". and the red person with the really really really long neck is saying: " I love you (something).

"In 94 years, I will be 100! I will eat lobster. I will watch the news. I will play Battle Ship. People will call me old man Borders."
Hahaha I LOVE this one! He is so funny. They did this one on their 100th day of school.

"My family has fun together. We play basketball. We always make baskets."
Can you see all five of us making a basket?
"I told my brother that I went in the garage but I was in the closet."
The picture is great! Cooper is upstairs in their closet, Mason is in the garage.
"Dear Mr. Hoglund, (the principal) First grade is fun because I use plungers to get to the lights! I get to throw apples! I get to eat the white board. From Mason"
The picture is of Mason on top of the lights. Can you see the little Mason up there? The arrow is pointing down at his desk.

Last is a painting he did with one of the art moms.
