BUDWEISER, BUDLIGHT…. BEER!

{{no alcoholic beverages were consumed in the making of this blog post}}

CHI TOWN

We carefully planned out our summer so we could squeeze as much
 fun//adventures//trips
as we possibly could.

We chose to end August with making one of Eric's dream come true:
Watching the Cubs play at Wrigley Field
in Chicago
(win-win)

We convinced our best friends Scottie and Bree to come with us
making the trip one for the books.

 the city was breathtaking.
there was so much to do and SO much to see
a never- ending concrete jungle

the foggy skyscrapers and impeccable architecture were mesmorizing
every corner we turned, it got more beautiful!

We made it to TWO Cubs games, so you can imagine Eric's joy.
I have to admit, the old school Wrigley Field was pretty great-
"the most beautiful sight in the world" according to my husband
"no offense babe"

none taken.

by the end of the trip we had the L Train down to a science.

We also celebrated our Anniversary in Chicago, but I think that deserves its own post.
Our trip was incredible, Eric had to drag me to the airport because I didn't want to leave.
I love that Eric has the same spirit of adventure as me.
We have so much fun in new places, getting lost and wondering.
Chicago was amazing
It was the perfect BANG to end our summer on.
I can't wait to go back!

Hope everyone had a great summer!
aaaaand welcome back to real life.

SUBWAY

SUMMER 2014 has been (( for lack of a better word))
LEGIT.
Eric and I are always saying we need to take advantage of this beautiful place we live in.
so this summer, we put our money where our mouth is.

we were invited to take a trip to Zion's National Park with the Garrett family
they are such a fun and active family, and we had never been, so we couldn't pass it up

On saturday we thought we would warm up with a smaller hike to Angel's Landing
It was beautiful, but sooo HOT.
the heat got me good.. ask Eric, he'll share a funny story.

Image

we also started the hike at noon, so naturally it was 106 degrees NBD

Image

the second day we did  the Subway.
if you live in Utah, or anywhere near Utah
shoot,
if you have any friends who live in Utah,
MAKE THE TRIP.
It was incredible.
the hike took us about 9 hours to complete
every moment was BREATH-TAKING

*we were thankful for Justin, who knew what he was doing when it came to repelling*

our highest repel was 30 ft.

we really got to know and love the Garretts' on this trip
they have such a great spirit of adventure, and we are so lucky to have them as family.

At the end of the hike we were all SO exhausted and ready to go home
…then we realized we lost the car key at some point of our 11 mile hike
(just to add to the adventure)
ha.
by the time we actually got home
I felt like I was hit by a truck
everything hurt.
I had so many blisters I lost count
my muscles were sore in places I didn't even know I had muscles

BUT
 to be able to say
we did it, we finished it
made it all worth it.

and I'll tell you this

I'd do it again tomorrow if I could.

trees, people. I thought, 'This is what it is to be happy.'"

Blizzy

BLUB + IZZY

((if you didn't get it.))

Image

Let's start at the beginning.
Eric and I have been married for ((almost)) a year.  CRAY.
some days it feels like a month, some days it feels like a decade.
but every day I am thankful for my Blub.

The last 12 months have been a roller coster.
We have lived in 2 different apartments, I finished school, we are both working full-time,  we have lived apart for FOUR months (after we were only married for four months!) we have traveled, we have explored , and we have learned so much about each other.
and Eric has seen all my crazy and stuck around, so that's good.

It's been a crazy ride, but I'm so happy I get to be on it with this stud by my side.
I could sit here and list all the reasons why he is SO great, but I'll spare you the cheese.
just take my word for it, I picked a good one.
+ have you seen his cheeks?!

long story- short.

(sorry for the awkward cut off-  I'm just about all blogged out for one day)
-peace&blessings, guys.-

“Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he’s been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to just be people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old time rail journey…delays…sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling burst of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.”
