Four super packed days in Texas

We returned Sunday night from four extremely busy days visiting the Lacy's in Texas. As always, so many laughs and too much good food :)

It was our nephew Asher's 7th birthday while we were there - so happy we could actually be there in person to celebrate him!

Image
How amazing is that cake made by Aunt Tista?
We also had a little mini celebration for Harper since her birthday is in just two weeks! It was a gift to be able to have family around to do the little things like sing happy birthday, have a "smash cake" and open a couple presents.

Before we forced her to "enjoy" her first cake

Another adorable Tiers by Tista creation

She LOVED when people sang Happy Birthday for her

Slightly intrigued by the candle

"Why are you setting me on the table?"

Sam pressed her hand into the frosting when she wouldn't engage on her own

She liked feeding me frosting

Really didn't know what to do with the mess

"Why is everyone staring at me and why won't mom pick me up?"

DONE!

Play time with Uncle Matt (who I have always said she looks like!)

Another big event of the trip was family photos! Man, was that interesting. Lots of people to situate and get to smile at one time. We did it all with a timer on a camera too. I think we got some decent shots.

It always goes so fast! This Christmas is in MN too so we won't see them again until next Summer's trip (unless anyone wants to come to Philadelphia???)
Harper actually did surprisingly well with all the chaos. She slept for an hour on each 3 hour flight. She slept through the night 2 out of 3 nights. She took naps in several different strange bedrooms. And, by the time we had to come home I think she was warming up to the family. She LOVED playing with her cousins. Sweet Clara even sent her home with one of her baby dolls that Harper liked. Clara said the baby's name was Cinderella but we changed it to Clara so Harper will think of her :) Hannah was also nice to share her toys even though Harper made a giant mess in her room.

So all the Lacy's told us Harper looks just like me. When we were in MN, all the Gervais said she looked just like Sam. What, no one wants to claim her???

Thanks to all the Lacy's for a wonderful trip! xoxo

Charleston, South Carolina

Okay, it's been a month since we got back from Charleston. We've forgiven Harper for her behavior there but we will never forget. The vast majority of our time was spent in the hotel - the really expensive hotel because of the historical district surrounding it and location near the beach. We never made it to the beach and we saw very little of the historical district. We did get in a couple good walks which were enough to get some really beautiful pictures. Not much to say about the photos, we just snapped them while walking around. Loved the old southern style of homes!

Fort Sumter. We took a ferry there and got a tour.

Image
For me, the tour consisted of walking Harper around while she slept in the stroller. She wakes up if you stop moving.

A $3.00 palmetto rose we got for Harper. She tossed it out of the stroller later that day when we didn't notice.

How long can her hair keep growing up?

A surprise evening nap meant a walk along the shore!
