BBQ, Beach Volleyball, and FAMILY

We had another picnic this weekend, this time at Shark River Park.  And this time we did a BBQ and celebrated Braden's birthday a few days early.  I forgot to take out my camera while we were all eating, but then later Jordan decided to try grilling the corn without foil, so I did get one pic :)

Kelly made a delicious oreo cheesecake (Braden's request).  It might not have look super pretty, but it sure was yummy!!!!

My younger brother Alan and his wife Stephanie got here Saturday night, so they were able to enjoy the nice BBQ with us also.  We are really excited that they will be here all summer with us!  We don't get to see my family too often, so it will be great getting to spend so much time with them!!

Later that night the guys got together to play some beach volleyball.  They were having so much fun they didn't want to stop.  They played till it was so dark you could barley see the ball at all.

My mom keeps asking how close our apartments are to the beach.  Each time I tell her that they are just right there, just a few steps away.  She must not believe me because she keeps asking over and over again, and begging me to take a picture to prove it. haha.  So here is one.  It's not that good, but you get the idea.

See.  Right on the beach!  I really like the apartments.  I don't think I could live here permanently (it's too busy for me) but it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us, so I'll take it without too much complaining  :)

A Bunch of Random

ImageWow, I have been soo bad at blogging this summer! And bad at taking pictures!  I'll set a new goal to get better :)  Well, for mothers day Kelly and I decided to plan a picnic in the park.  We made some great food and desserts to take along with us, and headed out to Holmdel Park after church.  It was such a beautiful park!  They had a great play ground for the boys to play on too.  It was a gorgeous day and perfect for our picnic!  I was pretty tired when we got back so I took a nap while Jordan surprised me by cleaning our whole apartment, and making me dinner :)Image
We still haven't been up to too much.  I've been working on a few more sewing projects for the baby which I've really enjoyed.  I did finally find a doctor's office out here, and they seem really nice.  The baby is moving quite a bit these days, but mostly just wiggling.  He doesn't kick too much, just wiggles.  Sometimes he wiggles so much around my sides it starts to tickle and makes me jump (a little embarrassing in public, lol)  Luckily he hasn't been waking me up at night with all his movement.  I don't even notice it while I'm sleeping - I'm sure the day will come, but I'm happy if it doesn't come for a while!

Well, the office here is doing really well, and so is Jordan!  He works so hard in the summer, and it is definitely paying off!  The Chipotle here is just opening, so yesterday and today they did free lunch for everyone who comes in!!  Anything you want!  I was so excited!  I kept telling Jordan I wanted to go there when they opened, and always hear it is good, and then we got to go for free!!!

And we went to Bobby's Burger Palace Saturday night for dinner.  It's Bobby Flay's restaurant (from the food network) and it was sooo good!  If you ever run across one, you'll have to try it!
I'm so glad I can finally eat again, and enjoy good tasting food!!!  :)

Oh, and we are still struggling with the name game, so if you guys are just dying to give suggestions, feel free :)

Working Hard

Well, the past few weeks I've been the only office assistant here in Jersey, so I've been working tons!  But this week our other office assistant started, so I have some days off :)  We still haven't done anything too exciting, just walks along the boardwalk and beach, picnics, errands, etc.  But I did finally make time to run to Joann's and pic up some fabric to start some sewing projects!  My first one was a nursing apron.  I've heard these come in handy, and are pretty pricy, so I found a cute tutorial for one, and made it myself!  I totally love it!  It's reversable, so cute fabric on both sides :)  And it was so fast and easy to make!!  Here is the finished product:

This is where I found the tutorial: Makeitandloveit.blogspot.com there are tons of other tutorials for super cute stuff on her site too!!

Also, since I've been here in Jersey, everywhere I go people ask when I'm due.  It's nice knowing that people do realize I am pregnant, and not that I just have a chubby belly, hehe.  My tummy definitely keeps on growing!  I still have to pick a doctor here, there are just so many to choose from, and it's scary just picking a random doctor from the long list (there are 40 OBGYN's that my insurance covers within 5 miles of me!!!  There are only 2 clinics to choose from in Rexburg!)
I've started researching strollers and carseats, and lots of other baby stuff.  There is so much out there!  How do you choose?!  I thought I would go with a travel system for our first, it just seamed easiest, but then I don't really like them as much as others.  And it seems like everyone has the same Graco ones!  The Graco travel system looks convenient and fairly reliable, but then the stroller weighs 26 lbs!!!  Ugh!  Anyone have any suggestions on types and brands, and whatever else there is to know?!
Since everyone back home keeps asking for pics, here is one I just took today, so I'm about 23 weeks in this picture (almost 6 months!!!  Wahoo!)
