I'm so glad Mickie came to visit!  We didn't do anything too exciting, but spent lots of time playing and visiting with one another.  Maylee and Ty are just so cute and sweet!  Maylee is about 4 months older than Capri, but they are pretty close in size.

And here are the cute little two year old twiner cousins jumping on the air mattress
We made matching dresses for the girls and took some new cousin pictures.  It wasn't the easiest with all those kids, but I think we got some pretty good ones.  I'll post those later.  For now here is a pic of all the girls

Seriously Mickie, thanks for making that long drive with two little ones to see us!  We LOVED having you here!

Pocatello & Tanner's Carnival

I'm going to try to write this quickly, while everyone is napping.

My sister-in-law Mickie is visiting this week.  She drove by herself with her 2 yr old and 6 month old all the way from Vancouver just to visit :)  We're so excited to see her and Ty and Maylee!  We sure wish Matt could have made it, but he's home working hard.  I haven't taken any pictures yet, but I will.

So, many of you are probably wondering why we are in Pocatello.  Good question.  Too bad we don't have a great answer.  Ha.  Well, Jordan is in the middle of another round of PT school apps, and since the only place we can claim residency is Idaho, we decided we better stick around just in case.  ISU gives preference to residents, and of course tuition would be way cheaper, so we'll see.  And instead of going back to Rexburg we came to Pocatello where the weather is a tad warmer and of course Nate and Kelly are here which makes life in Idaho so much more fun!

Capri & Ashlyn
This month both of our families have been sick with one thing after another.  Right now, we're all healthy, and hoping it lasts a long long time!

Our nephew Tanner just started kindergarten and had a school carnival this past weekend.  So fun!  I LOVED school carnivals when I was little, so it was fun taking our kids and watching them have so much fun!

Calin has been learning colors, and recently his favorite to say is Pink.  So when it came time to choose a balloon of course he wanted a pink one.

My favorite game is always the cake walk, and the cupcake we won was fantastic!

And sweet Capri enjoyed riding around in the stroller in the beautiful weather.  Seriously, we are loving the weather right now! Loving it!

Capri - 2 months

Yesterday I took Capri in for her two month check up.
Here are her stats:

Weight: 11 lbs 13 oz - 55%
Height:  22.5" - 50%
Head Circumference: 39cm - 52%

Pretty evenly proportioned :)

She's still a great baby!  In this past month she has learned to smile, coo, hold her head up pretty well, and cry.  Ok, so she knew how to cry before, but honestly she rarely ever, ever cried, and if she did, it would be maybe for 5 seconds max.  Now she'll have a fussy moment here and there.  But it's usually just to tell me something.  For example, she was getting really fussy at night between 8-8:30, turns out, that's just what time she likes to go to bed.  In the dark.  So us having the lights on and not putting her to sleep was making her cranky.

She's a pretty easy going little lady, but I have noticed a few little favorites of hers:

She's a finger sucker.  I'm trying to fight it, and push a paci, but she's putting up a real good fight of her own.
She likes to clasp her hands together.  She usually doesn't try to wiggle out when she's swaddled (unless she really wants to suck those fingers), but she will wiggle her hands loose so she can clasp them in the middle.
Her favorite way to be held/cuddle/sleep is for me to hold her on her side on my chest so her ear is right over my heart.  I love it too, and it makes me feel like the sound of my own heart is still soothing to her, even though I'm sure she can hardly even hear it.
She's a great sleeper.  I never have to stay up with her at night, and she usually only wakes to eat once.  And if I'm tired and want to nap while Calin is napping, I just cuddle with her in my bed, and she will sleep along with me till I (or Calin) wake her up.
And she's a big cuddler. I love it.  Calin never was, but this girl loves to snuggle.
She's not a fan of the activity mat.  It was Calin's favorite!  Maybe she'll grow to love it, but so far I can only leave her under there for 2-3 minutes before she starts to get upset.  She does love her bouncer though, and I bet she would enjoy a swing if we had one.
Smiles- oh I love her smiles!  She just recently started smiling with us, and she is most smiley when she wakes up in the morning or from naps.  It's hard to get a good picture of her smile though, because she opens her eyes super big at the same time, and in person it's darling, but I haven't been able to capture the cuteness on camera yet.  But heres a cute small smile...
Image

Calin is still so good with her.  He loves to kiss her and softly rub her head.  Just today he noticed her smiling back at him for the first time, and oh my was he excited!  He has a pretty big smile as it is, but somehow his smile got bigger than I have ever seen it before, and he just kept smiling super big and taking to her so she would keep smiling back, it was such a sweet moment!

And here's a video of her sucking her finger

LOVE those dimples!

4 Years!

Today is our 4th anniversary :)

Image

Yesterday Jordan headed down to Lake Powel for some fun with our Vivint region.  Kids weren't allowed, so I sat this one out.

Before he left he made sure to leave me with 4 dozen roses.

1 dozen for each year we've been married, and each rose represents a date for the upcoming year.  He came up with 48 date ideas, so when I decide I want to go on a date, I pick a number, and it's already planned out.  It was so sweet and thoughtful, I love it!
Image
Jordan wanted a picture of me with the roses, but I was sick and not picture ready

Everyday I feel so lucky to be married to such a great guy!  And I fall more in love with him all the time!

Texas - part 2

Tuesday we went shopping at the outlets in San Marcos.  I thought we would be there a max of 3 hours, but wow those outlets are HUGE! So we ended up staying all day, and got back just in time for a yummy dinner that Melissa made.
Wednesday we went to the pool near Steve and Melissa's.  It has such a great kid pool, and it was nice to relax and cool off a bit.

Ha, I thought this picture was funny.  Jordan really wanted to get one of me with both Capri and Calin.  This was what we got :)

Awe, he finally sat still for a picture with me
(notice all the stuff in his hands in the pictures?  I'll post about that quirk later)

We left for Idaho early Thursday morning, stopped in Albuquerque, NM that night, and finished our drive to Pocatello on Friday.  Yup, Pocatello.  That's where we will be till next April.

Catching Up - Texas

Wow I am behind!  I will do my best to catch up.
I wrote this post over a week ago, but I couldn't get the picture to load until now.

Jordan finished his last day of work on Saturday, so we packed up our stuff and are on our way back to Idaho.
Before we left though, my old roommate and good friend Aimee grew up an hour away from Fayetteville so her mom, Carole, came to to our place for a nice visit.

While Carole and I were making a fabric flower clip Calin played with the extra fabric and flowers

So we decided to take a detour down to Texas on our way back to Idaho.  We left Sunday morning and stopped first in Plano, Texas where Jordan grew up.  We tried finding his brother Jared's grave site in McKinney, but weren't able to.  We were able to stop at all three houses he lived in, and ate lunch at Cici's Pizza.

This is the house he lived in when he was born

This is the second house he lived in, he calls it the "Sticker Yard"

This is the last house he lived in while in Texas.

Then we headed to his Uncle Larry's in Waco.  They live on a bunch of land, and even though it was HOT, Calin loved playing outside.

Larry and Jordan's cousin Dustin are musicians, and Calin LOVED the drums!

Before we left Waco we were able to stop by and see Jordan's mom's grave.  I never met her, but I have always felt really close to her and I know my kids will too, so it was great we were able to visit.
On Monday (29th) we headed down to Austin and are staying with Jordan's cousins Steve and Melissa.  Jordan's dad came over and we had a little celebration for Calin's 2nd birthday.

Calin loved jumping on the trampoline and playing with James and Madeline

I think I have some pool pictures from the trip too, so I'll post those later
