More on Capri - 4mo

Image

Capri has always slept well at night.
With maybe one or two exceptions.
But the past few nights have not been so great.  Every hour or so she would wake up panicking. And I could not figure it out.
Then last night I wrapped my pillowcase around her like a blanket.  And she slept all night long! Hmmm . . .

She sure is a sweet little lady.  And I think she loves us as much as we love her :)

Oh, and she had her checkup today.  She surprised the nurses and Dr with how much she has grown.  She probably just went through a growth spurt, but she is growing a ton!  For those of you who like reading the stats, I updated them here.

Oh, and she finally started laughing.  So far I'm the only one who can make her laugh.  Which is weird since I'm not too funny.  I'm sure that will change soon though.

*We leave for California in the morning.  We're pretty excited!*

Daphnee

I love living next to Nate and Kelly for many reasons.  Kelly's home studio is one of them.
Today I went over and took pictures of Calin and Capri (I'll post them soon), and a few weeks ago I took pictures of my old roommate's little girl Daphnee.  For some reason we are having trouble loading the pics on her computer, so I thought I would post some on here so she can see a few.  Isn't Daphnee darling!

Capri - 4 Months

Oh our sweet little Capri.  I don't think it's possible to love her more than we do.
Seriously, we just love this girl to pieces! And how could we not?!
Image

She is such a good baby, and actually brings peace to our home and my life.  When I need a break she's always up to cuddle & rock me her to sleep.
She loves to be cuddled, rocked, and sung to.  If she's fussy, singing her a song will almost always calm her down.
She still loves to be swaddled when she sleeps.  And she has outgrown all of her swaddling blankets so we are in desperate need of getting her some bigger ones :)
She isn't rolling over yet, but she's trying. Right now she just rolls from side to side while on her back.
Ha, so just a few hours after posting this she started rolling over.  Both ways.

She still doesn't cry much, but we discovered this week that she has major separation anxiety.  Jordan and I went on a date last week and left the kids with Nate & Kelly.  She cried the whole time (we were gone an hour and a half).  And the other day I left her with someone just to get something from the car (2 min maybe), and she was happy and smiley before I left, but as soon as I shut the door she panicked and would not stop screaming till I came back in.  And even after I was back it took her a good 5 min before she would calm down and still got nervous for the next hour or two anytime she couldn't see me.  It seems way early for her to have separation anxiety, so hopefully it doesn't get even worse!  She doesn't get upset when me or Jordan leave as long as one of us is still with her.  But since she doesn't cry very often, it breaks my heart when she does.

Halloween 2011

We had a great Halloween!  Kelly and some other friends organized a progressive Halloween Party.  It was a blast!  I think there were 10 families that participated, and we went to 5 different houses.  We decorated pumpkins, cupcakes, played pin the eye on the monster, ghost bowling, bean bag toss, made chocolate covered pretzels and caramel apples, ate doughnuts from a string, had a sensory station with things like dragon snot and eyeballs, and Kelly took pictures of all the kids (you can see most of them here)

After the halloween party we went trick-or-treating with Nate & Kelly.  The boys had a blast together.  Calin LOVED it this year!  He was doing really well going from house to house without eating his candy until Jordan opened a box of nerds for him.  He was done after that and just wanted to eat his candy.

In the picture on the right Calin is sharing his candy with me :)  I asked him if I could have a piece (expecting him to say no) and he searched his bag and pulled out a kitkat (my favorite).  Even though he took it right back, it was still pretty sweet!

I thought this Halloween was going to be a flop.  I didn't decorate, and I didn't even start Capri's pumpkin costume till a couple days before Halloween.  But despite my lack of preparation we had tons of fun, and even made some caramel apples that night (which turned out WAY better than last years!!)
