1 Month - Taylor

Image
I love this little guy! And of course time is going by way too fast! Especially with the holidays.

I took these last week when he was 1mo old. I tried taking a few on the 13th, but he just kept falling asleep on me. So the next day I tried again and he gave me so many smiles! Capri was "helping" me out so you will see her (and some of her props) in a few photos.

I wish I had the same bear that I used with Calin and Capri's monthly pics, but it has been MIA.
The older he gets the more I think he looks like Calin and Capri. I can see a bit of both of them in him. But I'm terrible with figuring out who looks like who.

Taylor's favorite things at 1 month:

Sleeping
Eating
Calin & Capri singing
MAM pacifiers
Mirrors

Taylor does not like:

-Being left downstairs while we are upstairs.
(the only time he cries is when he's really hungry and I'm taking to long to feed him, or if I am upstairs with the other two and he is downstairs. Even if he's fast asleep when we head up there, he somehow knows, wakes up, and cries till I bring him up with us)
-Pacifier. Sometimes. He often gags on it or will make a disgusted face when we try to give it to him. And then other times he enjoys it.

He is a jittery guy. He doesn't mind being held when he is awake, but he is so wiggly that it's hard to hold him. He kicks and swings his arms and bobs his head all over the place.

People keep asking me how life is with 3 kids. It's not easy, but life never is. But life with 3 kids is so much better than 2 because it means I have Taylor here and he brings more joy and peace to our home than we had without him. As he grows, I'm sure the challenges will also, and sure it's harder taking 3 kids to the store with me, and I do my best to avoid it if I can. But when I sit down and really think about it, having 3 kids is easier than having 2. Before Taylor, I was missing something in my life. I felt it. And when I got pregnant with Taylor, I knew he was it, that he would bring that piece of joy and love and happiness that we were missing in our lives and in our home. And he sure has!
We love love love you Taylor!

What a great year. My mom visited 3 times. We visited California twice. Oregon once. Made many new friends and created lots of wonderful memories! And best of all, our family of 4 became a party of 5. A lot can change in one year. Can't wait to see what 2014 will bring.

My Three.

Here are some moments recently captured by my iPhone.

#1. Calin LOVES to learn. Lately he's been asking us to sit down with him and help him learn how to read. It's adorable. I love that he is the one pushing us to help him learn instead of the other way around. Here is a cute video of Calin and Jordan. Jordan made up this little story to help Calin sound out the word correctly and learn the vowels. Have I mentioned this kid can count to 100? I hope he never looses his love for learning!!

#2. Capri has been loving all of her Christmas presents. She got these cute cupcake shape sorters to go with her kitchen and I think they have become her new favorite thing. She even sleeps with them. The other day she put together a cupcake party for us. It was so cute! She put all the cupcakes on plates and set the table. Then she told me she needed to get her dress on for the party :)

She is finally letting me put her hair into pigtails. Only the back is long enough so she still gets a headband which makes her happy. She loves her headbands. Lately she's been really into doubling up on headbands and it's adorable! I think she will be much more sylish than her mama. She is always coming up with cute things that I never even thought of. Last time I painted her toes (I wish I had a picture!) she told me she wanted all her toes pink with white "poke-a-nuts" (polkadots) only on the big toe and silver sparkles over the pink on her small toes. It turned out so cute, and it was all her own idea. It's so fun having a girl!

Today is Sunday and our ward just switched to 11:30 (though next week it will change to 10:30 Yay). The kids are so tired when we get home, but by the time they finish eating it's too late for a nap. Today while I blogged I put on Cinderella for Capri (her recent favorite) and for the first time ever she fell asleep on the couch. Isn't she cute all snuggled in her blanket :)

Yesterday Calin went to his friend Boston's birthday party. Capri loves Boston and if she didn't have a cold I probably would have let her tag along with the boys, but instead we had our own ice cream date to coldstone. I have decided I need to have more ice cream dates with this girl! Yum!

#3. Taylor is growing so big so fast! We just love him to pieces! He's so good! Still sleeps all the time, rarely ever complains about anything, loves to cuddle, and smiles a lot. He grew out of nb clothes (the few that ever fit him at all) at 2 weeks. He's also outgrown some of his 0-3mo clothes. This outfit in the photo below is 3-6months and fits perfectly (weird how every brand has such different sizing). Here are some pictures of him smiling that I've snapped over the past couple weeks.

He started smiling at Jordan when he'd come home from school when he was 1 wk old and has been smiling more and more every day. And do you see that cute little dimple on his right cheek :) Adorable.

Here's a video of him smiling. My little helper in this one is Capri

This is Taylor's favorite way to sleep (when he's not swaddled). Knees tucked up, feet crossed, and right hand up by his hear. Always perfectly posed. It's my favorite.

Calin and Capri have been SO good with Taylor. They LOVE him so much! And are very helpful! And not overly helpful. It's been wonderful and I'm enjoying it while it lasts :) I was trying to get a video of Taylor during tummy time, but Capri kept getting in my way, or trying to lift his head for him, and in this one she kept stepping on me. I love it though because she does this "Huh? What?" thing ALL the time.

Taylor's Newborn Pics

Have you been waiting and waiting for these?! I have been :)

Taylor is such a good little model! I have LOVED photographing him! And he doesn't seem to mind either. I had to space his photos out quite a bit while I recovered and I am so grateful for the extra room I have to take photos in so I could leave everything up and the newborn posing bag I made was so nice to have! It's much bigger and taller, so I didn't have to squat and sit down to take most of the photos. Almost every day since he was 4 days old I would try to do 1 pose with him when I noticed he was extra sleepy. The first week of his life he spent in a diaper since I was always trying to set him up to take photos and taking clothes on and off is just too much work :) When he was 7 days old we took him in to get circumcised so I stopped taking pictures for a while. But I still had a few I wanted to do (STILL do actually) so there are a few photos where he is almost 3 weeks old. I'm still hoping to get some more sibling photos, but we'll see. Here are LOTS of pictures for all you Taylor fans :)
