Our little Eskimo

Our little Miss Addie (Jeremy's preferred spelling of the nickname) is now 5 days old. Her swelling is going down and characteristics are starting to come out. I personally think she looks like Jeremy with my hair. ImageBut I am now starting to see cute little things that resemble me now.

Little Jeremy for those who haven't seen a picture.

Jeremy has been going camera happy (not that I haven't a little) so I thought I would post some pictures of her. We are so happy and think she is absolutely adorable. Image

She has the sweetest temperament. She is still a newborn of course, so its not like she never makes a peep. But for the most part we feel very lucky.

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!!!!

Ah...its finally here. The day that we have been preparing for 9 months. The hospital bag is packed, clothes are clean, my list of things to get have been crossed off, and the house is mostly clean ;) Yet I am missing one important component to this day. The baby OUTSIDE of me. That's right. She still in there. Hopefully it won't be long now. I will let you all know when she gets here.

The full moon

Ah, the full moon. Associated with werewolves, cheese, and all kinds of mythology and superstition.

Image

It is also associated with women going into labor. So guess how excited I was when i read

"Tonight's full moon will be largest since 1993"

Now I would probably be more excited if I didn't have a Final to take tomorrow at 2pm. It could be friday because

"Sky Show Friday: Biggest, Brightest Full Moon of 2008"

So everyone, hopefully she will wait one more day but if not...well expect a phone call :D

Memories

As we've been closing in on this baby of ours, I have been thinking a lot about Jeremy and mine's beginning. How close it came to not being and how happy I am that it did.
We have now been
married for about a year and a half and we have known each other for over 2 years. I remember how most everyone was completely and utterly shocked when we told them we were getting married while others thought that we were foolish. Of course the thought that we were foolish crossed my mind a time or two. However, I continued to push forward as I was lead by the promptings I received. I am so glad that I did.
I wish I could express it better. I wish that there were words that express what I feel for Jeremy. He is the greatest man I know. When I was in Young W omen's, they had me prepare a list of qualities I wanted in a husband. I remember think "Wow, that's quite a task." I started my list and worked on it all that Sunday. I don't know why...one of those girl things, I guess. Well anyways, I found that list when I went home. Jeremy had every quality on that list with so many more. Beyond that
he loves me. He is my strength, my companion, he is everything to me.
I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father. He has given me the greatest thing I could ever asked for. My
Family. I can feel the love He feels for me and the family Jer and I are starting. Every once in a while I am anxious for those things to come but I know things will be okay as long as I have faith and trust in Him.

Late Nights, Hiccups, and Yo-Yo Ma

Our little girl LOVES late nights. She starts to kick around 12:30 and just keeps going till about 2 or 3am. Now this has really thrown off my sleeping schedule but everything has been working so far because I entertain myself by doing things like homework or watching a movie.

Last night she got the Hiccups!!!! Now she might of already had hiccups for all I know but it was SOOOOO obvious that it was hiccups that it was just funny sitting there and looking at my stomach and feeling it. She did it for about half an hour before she finally stopped. It was very exciting and Jeremy thought it was hilarious.

I love music and many different types. I always have some on when I can. While I study (or bathing) I like to have on classical music that calms me. I was studying about a month ago and Bach's cello suite No. 1 (the prelude) came on played by Yo-Yo Ma. Well my belly just exploded!! She was, what I like to think of, dancing. She does this every time I play that song.

She does this with other song every once in a while but nothing like with this particular song

Test and Halloween

I love Halloween! First because its in my favorite season second its just so adorable to see little kids receive candy. Its just adorable. This year for Halloween was pretty chill...mostly because Jeremy and Mine's week was consumed by tests, projects, and assignments. After all of these things were all said and done we just had a pumpkin carving contest and gave out Halloween candy for the rest of the night.Image

Image

We started to carve our pumpkins outside because it was such a beautiful day.

I used the pregnancy card so Jeremy would scope out the guts to both his and my pumpkin. To say the least he had very orange hands.

So last year when we had our pumpkin carving contest Jeremy totally kicked my butt. I love crafty things but I am no artist. So this year I cheated. I got a pattern and put it on my pumpkin and I must say its the prettiest pumpkin I have ever carved!!!

ImageImage

And here they are lighted up!! (Jeremy had the witch and I had the ghost)

ImageImage

Anyways it was a ton of fun and we have a ton of candy leftover (we had like 15 trick or treaters) and we are looking forward to the next couple holidays and next year when we will have our baby girl.

An occurance

I grew up and had a very Hispanic name. My father is hispanic so it seemed very natural to me. Yes, I am very pale and look nothing like I'm half cuban but serious...never even crossed my that it was weird. Well that was until yesterday.
I was editing my family blog and typed my maiden name. I thought to myself that it didn't look right so I kept retyping it until I realized that I was spelling it right it just looked funny. Then it occurred to me that my name was very Hispanic.
I know I'm kind of a dork not realizing this sooner...it was my name though and I never thought much about it.

Mom Post (Maria)

Answer these things about your mom from A-Z

*going to the movie just for girls. We would go get popcorn (which we love and go through like 3 bags of) and a drink and just chill together and watch the movie.

*Before I was born, she was in the shower and thought my sister said the kids were on fire so she ran out of the shower to help but unfortunately for her it was just the stove.

*To call you back. If you talk to her and she has to go all the sudden and says she will call you back she won't.

G- Gift she gave you?
*Life...I can't remember a specific gift to honest but she is sooooo giving and always sends me packages which makes me sooo happy.

H- Hid from her?
*Same as Becky...hidden relationships.

I- Is obsessive about?
*Coupons right now...but it will change soon :)

J- Jealous of?

L- Lives near or far?
*Very far I'm afraid

Q- Quality you love the most?
*How much she cares for each of her kids and takes time to make sure they each have some type of quality time with her.

R- Really hates?
*The internet :D No she doesn't but you would think so the way she doesn't ever learn to use it. Hehe...naked jokes. I know it sounds weird but she has several embarrassing stories that involve no clothes so we always made naked jokes and she HATES it!

S- Secret celebrity crush?
*I honestly have no idea...Becky was right about the red head thing though...so ya...no idea.

X- always has eXtra of?
*umm...lots of stuff. My favorite is that she never seemed to run out of qtips...she always had a jar full of them that never seemed to empty

Z- favorite animal at the Zoo?
*I use to know...can't really remember though.

It's just to funny...

Ok so my brother and sister showed me this video and its just too good. I have been laughing hysterically every time I think about it. I think its mostly cause I've been hit on like this (a little less annoying but seriously just like it). It is MadTV so they do drop some mild sterotype cursing but I didn't find it offensive. If you want to see it just click here.

The amazing man that I married

I feel that I have been blessed through out my entire life. It has of course had its own difficulties and a couple low points but I have always made it through thanks to my Father in Heaven. The most amazing blessing of my life is My husband.

So this week has been very interesting. It really started on Saturday...We were sitting around and enjoying conference when we got a call from his sister. Her daughter who lives 5 min from us was in some pain and needed to go see the dentist. We of course were willing to help in any way we can so we both canceled our plans for the rest of the weekend. His niece even spent the night as a just in case (she is such a sweet girl).
Well after the crazy weekend we were of course running low on groceries so I planned a shopping trip to the store for Monday since I had school work to work on from Tuesday to Thursday. I meant to have it done by the time Jer got home but other things that I needed to do took up my entire morning so I was unable to make the trip. An hour after Jer got home (after a 10 hr day at school) he got ready and went with me to the store because he wanted to spend time with me and knew I wouldn't be able to do it later on.
The next day I worked all day on my school work but Jer took every minute he could to be by my side. This is where my week got complicated. I had a test coming up on Thursday that I had to get proctored since I live in Provo. I get a email to the lady I had contacted, and was informed that she would not be able to proctor my exam on Thursday or Friday. She was the only person in the area that could proctor this type of exam and I could schedule to do it Wednesday but the test info would not reach her in time from my teacher (not to mention it would mess up my study schedule). The only solution that could be seen without alot of work was to drive up to Rexburg to take it at the testing center, which Jeremy agreed to swiftly.
So after I finished my class work that was due I then proceeded to start a study guide. And was able to study Thursday morning while Jeremy took his own test and attended his classes. We then left. As I drove to Rexburg he quized me on the material, since I get a headache if I read in the car.
So now I am sitting in my brother-in-laws apartment using the computer as my husband spends time with his family with the occasional 'I love you', 'Your beautiful' and jumping up to give me a hug and a kiss. Not once has he complained. He just keeps rolling with what comes and keeps reminding me why I think I am the luckiest woman that has ever been born.

TV show reccomendation

Image
Okay, when i saw this at the blockbuster and Jer was trying to convince me that we should try it out I totally thought this was going to be the dumbest show ever. But I let him get it cause I was tired and didn't really care what we got.
This show is now on my like 'best 5 tv shows' list. It is awesome and not nearly what I thought it was gonna be. Its really clean and fun to watch as well as all reactions in the show are exactly how they would be in real life (in my opinion). Everyone should give this a try!

P.s. If you do happen to get really into this just a warning the 2nd season is really short. According to some guy we talked to, they canceled the show but brought it back because so many people wrote them.

Being proud of the little belly

Image

So not a perfect shot of the size I currently am, however, this picture is not far from the truth.
I can't hide my belly, unless I am wearing a baggy shirt, but the fact that I am almost 7 months pregnant seems to shock everyone I meet. It is very funny to meet people that aren't as far along as I am and they are bigger by far.
At first this bummed me out a bit but I decided that I am okay having a small belly if that means my baby will be small (at least that is what I am hoping for.)
Anyways, Six and a half months later...here I am looking 2 or 3 months pregnant :)

So Its been a long time...

Well It's been pretty crazy since the last post we did. Many fun, excited, and unexpected things have happened between my being 20 weeks pregnant to me being 24 weeks pregnant. Well I guess the best way to go about this is to explain it Imageall Chronologically.

Jeremy Agrees. (Isn't he cute!!!!)

Well this pic is me is me at about 21 or 22 weeks prego. It is becoming apart of my pregnancy picture collection that Jeremy has so wonderfully started. I am much bigger now (as in I couldn't hide I'm pregnant if I wanted to) but with all the craziness we haven't taken any pictures.

Image

We also bathed Cali (the cat) at roughly the same time. I took a picture cause...well she looks so dang pathetic is kinda cute!!!

Image

This is where the craziness starts. So August...I want to say 15th...Was my family's first ever Girls Getaway. It was a blast. We went to Washington D.C. and was there for a total of 3 days and 2 nights. For the first ever I can't think of anything that could of been improved upon.

ImageImage

It was my two older sisters, my mother, my Aunt, and my cousin's girlfriend (who if under any circumstance was to get rid of we are keeping her). We toured most, if not all, of D.C. I was so exhausted by the end but it was way cool.

After the trip was over we went to our apartment. Somehow we decided in like a 20 min conversation that we should move back to school. To explain the circumstances briefly, Jeremy caught walking pneumonia and would be unable to work the rest of the semester so we decided to go ahead and make the journey back 2 or 3 weeks earlier than planned. What was the bonus is that my amazing sister and mother helped us pack, clean, and leave sooner than the two of us would have been able to do (with one of us pregnant and the other getting over walking pneumonia.)

This video is from our road trip back. Cali is an amazing cat that is really awesome on road trips. However, this one night she decided to wake us up many times in the night (and I'm not talking 2 or 3, I'm talking close to 12.) So the next day I kept waking her up so that I could get some sleep that night (It totally worked by the way)

On a side not Jer is this scruffy cause he decided not to shave the entire time he was sick which was about a month.

So now we are in Pleasant Grove, Ut. Jer started school Tuesday and I am starting Monday/Tuesday and we are just living life.

The news we've been waiting for....

We have finally had our 20 weeks appointment today! It is very healthy and as all limbs and parts (it was a little tiff we disturbed its nap time to check though)

Image

Now it’s important to let you all know whether BOY, a little playful destroying testoterite manchild, or GIRL, a little pink wearing sweet destructite; we will be very happy.

We have both been hoping for a GIRL however be have both thought all along it was a BOY!!

Truth of the matter we were hoping for a GIRL to help with any other babies that may have been headed our way, they tend to be more helpful no? However BOY's would be sweet also, seriously, a manchild sounds like a good time.

Dad did his b.e.s.t. at the beach and he told me how to do it also. He did his test and his best guess was that it was going to be a BOY, I did my best to do the test and at first I thought it was going to be a BOY, but then did it with less concentration and It seemed like it was going to be a GIRL!! This was very confusing.

So, in the last week we have been thinking it will be a BOY for sure but possibly a GIRL? Which didn’t help us much. We talked for the last 2 weeks on GIRLS and BOYS names. We settled on Zebediah for a BOY and Cleopatra for a GIRL. Well those will be the names until the little tyke’s born.

Image

WELL NOW we have been to the doctors, we have had the ultrasound. Now we confirmed that it has a good heart, She said it beat like a little BOY! And we were very excited!!!. However when we saw the hands they were so tiny and delicate looking I kept thinking It looks more like a GIRL. But then Dad and I both got a BOY answer on the b.e.s.t. So we were still confused.

Now when it comes right down to it I’m a BOY and Maria is a GIRL Now Cali is a GIRL cat but that my not actually be the most important to the family dynamic. However, SO right now we have 2 GIRLS and a BOY in the family. If we have BOY we will even it out to 2 BOYS and 2 GIRLS counting Cali that is. Now if we are having a GIRL, which we are, THAT means we will have 3 GIRLS counting Maria and Cali. And me the only BOY that means I will be outnumbered 3 GIRLS to ME the only BOY!!

SO TO SUM UP!!! We had hoped for a GIRL and we had both from the beginning thought it was going to be a BOY. Also Dad’s b.e.s.t, Was a BOY outcome and my b.e.s.t outcome was a BOY. However we were both holding out for a little GIRL. And now we know what we are having. And, so do you. Thanks for all the support and happiness on the sex of our baby. WE ARE STOKED TO BE HAVING ONE!!!!! Love you guys.

Missing Christmas in July

I can't really tell you why, but lately I've just been so excited for the holiday season! I mean sugarplums in my head and wishing it would come just a tad faster (I think it's partly because we will have a baby during that time.)

ImageI am enjoying this summer weather but I've never been a huge fan of summer. My mom always made summer really enjoyable for us children. We went on vacations, I read a TON of books, we went swimming at lakes and beaches, and we always had some type of activity. But now that I am older summer has become a time of work. Unfortunately, I am not working now (the first trimester was a little rough on me) so I get to sit around and dread the time Jeremy has to go to work. And though we are getting to go to the beach (Exciting!!!) that will probably be the extent of our vacationing for this year.
This is not meant to be a complaint by any means. I am excited for what we get to do this year. It's just I remember summers differently in the pre-work years. So on that tangent I started thinking about how much fun it will be to provide that for my children. I know there will most likely be hard times where we can't do a ton but I've learned it's sometimes the things that cost no money at all that the kids remember the best such as hikes and homemade picinics, beach trips, making a 'fort', and taking sleeping bags in the backyard and naming constellations (to name a few).

And that is what got me so excited about Christmas. I know the baby will be only a few weeks old but it's a new beginning. Not only that but I get to have my parents and the majority of my siblings around on Christmas. (Plus it helps that I have always LOVED the holiday season.) From Halloween all the way to New Years. In between has always been a bunch of laughing and memories. So ya. I'm excited. :D

Doctor's Appointments...

So we had another doctor's appointment (I'll tell you what..I don't think anyone has been so interested the the fluids from my body...blood, how much I drink, how much goes out, etc.)
Anyways we didn't have a sono today but we did get to hear the heart beat with no problem what so ever as well as the routine things. We are really excited for our next appointment in which we will have pics as well as learn the sex of our baby!!!!

In the mean time my tummy keeps getting bigger and bigger. I am in no way huge or anything but I'm pretty certain that I can't hide it anymore...especially if I am sitting down. I haven't had any bad morning sickness in about a week and I am able to do more as well as my food aversions have calmed down so I can plan meals again.

So basically all in all things are being awesome for me...Jer is happy too because he doesn't have to find and end sources of things that make me sick as well as I can help out a little more around the house and with meals. So we are just a happy couple :D

Being Pregnant

As most of you know already we are expecting. We will probably keep you up to date through the blog. We are about 15 weeks along currently and I am happy that my morning sickness is slowing down (though its not completely gone yet)!!! Here is a pic for those who haven't seen it yet.Image

Wedding Tag

I thought this was appropriate considering...

1. What date is your Anniversary
June of 2007

2. Where did you get married?
Washington D.C. temple
Image

3. Who proposed and how?
Jeremy proposed by taking me out to a field where we attempted to fly a kite. We tried maybe 5 or 6 times but the wind just wasn't blowing hard enough to get it up so instead we started to wind it up (you could say i "reeled him in") and when he got to me he sat the kite down and grabbed my hand and started to dance with me. I wish I could tell you what he hummed but I honestly don't remember. Anyways, so he started to tell me many things, including that i felt like home to him and then all the sudden before I realized what happened he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I honestly don't really remember even looking at the ring I just hugged him and answered "Yes!"Image

4. How long were you engaged?
We were engaged a little longer than 3 months...though we knew before that.

5. What was the favorite part of your wedding day? (besides who you were marrying, hopefully)
Being completely confident that it was the right choice. I didn't get any jitters or anxiety. Oh! Actually one of my favorite moments was driving to the temple. It was Jer and I and we had to take a detour (cause traffic was horrible) so we were taking these back roads and I remember this calm, loving feeling coming over me as I sat there holding his hand knowing that it was going to be us forever.

6. What would you change if you could?
I can't honestly think of a thing to change...I just didn't care that much (which meant it wasn't important) or it turned out great anyways. So ya.

Remembered...my hair. The day we got married. I wish my hair was different.

7.Wedding colors?
Oh I honestly couldn't tell you if I wanted to...It was suppose to be lavender and yellow (pale...almost creme) ...then i threw in pink cause we had some pink flowers. Then I don't know what happened. It just turned into to many chefs I suppose.

8.Do you remember anything special from your ceremony? Any good advice? A comical moment?
A)
From my ceremony it is still all a blur. My favorite thing must of been being surrounded by family.
Image
B) Advice...I can think of two things. First, don't force a relationship. If it is suppose to be it will be. Its best to just trust in Heavenly Father and He will lead you along the right path (though it may get bumpy). Second, It is your wedding...don't let people push you into things you don't want to do. You'll be happier you didn't. At the same time don't be a horror to everyone around you.
C) Comical. My cake leaned. It was very funny. I honestly haven't seen my cake except that one time but I got pictures and its great to laugh at.Image

9.Were you clean or messy when you cut your wedding cake?

We were clean.

10.Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We were in the mountains of Western NC. It was absolutely gorgeous and I wouldn't change a thing.

11.How long have you been married now?
We will be married 1 year in about 2 weeks.

Beautiful Pictures

I found some just gorgeous pics representing memorial day. Thought I would share. (Sometimes pictures can express better than words.)

Plans for the future

I started thinking today on Jeremy and mine's future. So far the plan is finish school, Find work and move to (hopefully) a semi-permanent location (at least a year would make me happy...we have moved 4 times the year we have been married).
I am planning on becoming a stay-at-home mom so I thought of all the things I want for my children. Then I thought of their entertainment and all the movies I want to get. Then I thought of all that are available now and what will be available in the future. I was thinking of the Imagewonderful technology there is in this world...how things look so much more life like than even 10 years ago. I absolutely love 'The Incredibles', 'Finding Nemo', 'Ice Age', 'Monsters, Inc', etc. but then I thought of all the movies/tv shows I have seen recently that are...well questionable to what I want my child to watch.
For example, I really like Shrek...I laughed fairly hard at more than one part, yet I don't want my child when he is 4 or 6 to see somethings that were heavily suggested in that movie...I don't want him/her to find humor in some of the things they say.
I know I can keep that stuff out of my home but it doesn't mean it won't be available elsewhere. At the same time there are movies that I have watched recently that when I was younger I did not noticed many of things that I caught this time around.Image

Anyways what that little rant (or thought process) took me to was why is it that the things our children watched become more adult? I was thinking why are all these movies aimed at our kids that have content a child wouldn't even understand?
I came to this conclusion. It is a seed that is being planted. If our children are seeing this situation, hearing these words, and finding it acceptable how can they not feel that way as the grow up? Now I am not saying every movie/tv show is evil. I listed above some of the movies I like and if I watched little kids TV show I could probably find some I liked as well.
As quoted by Thomas S. Monson in "Teaching our Children", Dr. Glenn Doman stated, “What is placed in the child’s brain during the first six years of life is probably there to stay. … If you put misinformation into his brain during [this period], it is extremely difficult to erase it.” In the same talk, Monson says, "Children learn through gentle direction and persuasive teaching. They search for models to imitate, knowledge to acquire, things to do, and teachers to please."
So my goal when I begin to have children is to do my best. I am sure it won't be perfect. I can guarantee it. But I just hope and pray for guidance that I can discern the 'wolf in sheep clothing' in all things that are introduced into our lives.

Some videos

Here are some random videos from the trip.

This one is us just driving along. Cali enjoys sitting in my lap more than Jers during this trip...most likely because he wants to play rough with her and I just let her sleep.

So this is Everyone and Cali at Val's (if you are wondering why its foggy its because jer left the camera in the car and it fogged the lens.)

Carly was blowing bubbles for Cali. Thats about it.

Ok so I might post more videos later but right now this is taking a long time Bye guys!

Part 5- North Carolina and Maria's family

Ok so I have done a ton of commentary so this one might be short a sweet. It was great seeing my family. Here is Jer, Marc , and Carly eating ice cream.Image

Here some pictures of us playing games...we do that alot.

ImageImage

Image

We also got to see cindy and her family which we were really excited about. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures except this one with Jer and Ehren Shelton (he came down from UNC to eat and laugh with us and the Rays.) We did have the pleasure of seeing the triplets and the caterpillar fun!

Image

Part 4- Western NC

It was really pretty to. I always am surprised by how gorgeous the east is...I mean I always know it but you kind of forget while in the mountainous west.

Image

And just look how cute he is!!!!
Image

O and for those who went through the house-burned-down dilemma in Hendersonville, Jer and I went and saw you guys rental house.

Image
