Happy bday Adalaigh

Today was addie's birthday. Seems a little crazy but we went from this....

Image

To this.

Image

I make cupcakes for her birthdays. Nothing fancy seeing how we just got out of driveway today after our lovely many many inches of snow.
However she was not interested in the cupcakes. She just wanted the wrappers. This was the as dirty as she got.

Image

This video is of Addie being sung to by the majority of my family. Yes they sang really bad and they do it proudly and on purpose :)

I am about to retire for the night but we love all of you and hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Walking and the occurances thereof

I don't have a lot of time so this will be short. Also, for the sake of playing catch up, I have added an older video (like a month or 2 old) at the end.

So Addie is walking! She started actually walking on Jeremy's birthday and it has increase exponentially since. I wish I could tell you that I have many videos of this event, but I can't. Every time I pull out the camera she stops what she is doing and makes a b-line for it! I haven't gotten a decent shot of her in months.

Anyway, this video is one of her first attempts. She is walking better and farther now.

With an increase of movement, we have also got an increase of accidents. The picture is blurry but she has a good bump on the side of her nose from one of these tumbles.

And I know they aren't related, but I can't tell you how many times she has smashed her fingers in drawers....just when I thought I baby proofed the place.

Image

This picture is of addie sweet talking her daddy out of his strawberry shake. He let her have a sip and then not 2 seconds later she was on his lap cuddling with him and then opening her mouth when he took a sip. It was SOOO cute.

Image

This is addie's new favorite toy. The monkey sits outside Jer's office and everytime we are near there she does gives it kissess, plays, and laughs with him.

Addie has been eating alot of new food. I do have to give it to her in portions or this happens.

Luckily I learn quickly and I haven't given her anything messy while unsupervised.

This when right after Jer came home from Iowa. He was so amazed with all the things she had learned to do while he was away.

We're still alive!!!

I promise :)

So we are finally here (asheville area I mean). Here are a couple of photos of addie before we left utah for no other reason but that she is adorable.

Image

Image

So addie and I took a flight into Asheville and the first flight went smoothly and amazingly well. I had several people tell me when we landed that they hadn't even heard her. She was seriously sooo good. I don't know why I was bracing myself for bad, but it was probably good that I did.

We landed in Atlanta a half an hour early which was great because before I got my ticket that day I noticed that they had moved my 2nd flight up an hour and I had barely enough time to make everything work. And I was right.

The flight before at the gate had broken down. We ended up to sitting at my gate half an hour longer than arrival time. The captain said he called ahead to connecting flights to let them know so I thought we would be ok.

But when I finally got off my flight and ran 2 terminals down I had missed my flight because no one had called and let them know I was coming (whopee)

To make a long story short, I walked around the airport for an hour before I went to the main ticket counter to find someone to help me. They then proceeded to cover 3 of my meals and my hotel stay.

So everything worked out just right and addie was still amazing the next day.

Image

I love living here. I have been unpacking like a mad woman and progress seemed slow for a while but then I banned Jeremy from bringing in any boxes for a couple of days and that made me feel better. I am down to several more...though organization of our new places is still in need of some refinement (not the house...me)

It snowed a couple of days ago and the above picture is out of my bedroom window :) while it was still coming down.

Today we went to jump off rock. It is quite amazing...don't really feel the pictures I took really show the grandness that it is. There is almost a 360 degree view...maybe more like 280 but either way quite gorgeous. There are also a bunch of hiking trail that I am planning on braving come spring time

Image

It was really windy today so I have some crazy shots of lots of hair.

Image

Addie and I took shelter underneath jump off rock

This is pretty cool. This is all you can see from this place. Didn't take great pics because addie's nap was fast approaching by the time I got around to it.

ImageImage

Anyways, we love you all. And miss all of you that we left behind. We are having a marvelous time here and we truly believe this is where we are suppose to be.

Oh and if any of you are wondering why you have heard from us. We get no cell reception at the house currently. This, hopefully, will be rectified in the next couple of day.

Just making sure you were alive...Love you!

Ok so as a wife and new mommy I can get a little over anxious. Not that I'm obsessive, because I'm not. I was blessed to get my father's go-with-the-flow attitude.

I have been having trouble sleeping lately (mix between sickness and....well I don't know what, but something) so Jer was so sweet he gave me the morning off.

He had several errands to run this morning so he grabbed addie when she woke up, fed her, came and gave me a kiss said he would be back in about an hour and a half. It was nice.

After I finally got out of bed at about 9:30, I took a nice long shower and straighten up the bedroom and bathroom. Still had some time to kill (no baby to keep to a schedule) so I thought I would check out a new show (Glee).

I got through 2 (maybe 3...can't remember) episodes before I started to worry. I hadn't heard anything from him since he left and he had my baby girl. I calmed myself down. He is responsible and I love him...but I gave him a call just in case.

No answer.

I finished getting ready for the day and went to throw a load of laundry in. He hadn't called me back or sent me a text and it had been more than an hour over his 'projected' time table. So I gave him another call.

No answer again.

I have always had a vivid imagination and it just EXPLODED with all the possibilities of why he was not answering his phone. I knew where he was going and what he was planning on doing so he should have his phone on him (he has a little carrier so I know he has it) It took me 10 min before I picked up that phone again.

Then I called. No answer. Called again. No answer. One more time and if he doesn't answer I'm calling the police...

"Hey honey, what you doing? (With a smile on his face...I heard it)"

Pant, Pant. Sigh.

"Oh nothing, just making sure you were alive."

"Let me call you right back"

"Ok, love you!"

"Love you too."

No worries. He's ok (and my baby girl too). I know now :)

Halloween

Happy belated Halloween everyone!!!

I absolutely love this time of year. Not only is fall my favorite season, but its also the approach of the holiday season. Yay!

So here is our Halloween activities.

Anyone who knows me (or seen me carve a pumpkin) knows that my skills are lacking. I use to carve the same pumpkin year after year, well that is until last year. I bought the pumpkin carving kits and now my pumpkins are cool.

This year I took on an intricate witch and Jer took on the simple, but cool cat. Unfortunately, Jer's cat did not quite make it to Halloween (it might have been because he accidentally cut off its tail, but you didn't hear it from me!)

Image

Addie was very interested in the big orange thing, but was not going to touch the big goupy mess that came out of it. I wish that my battery hadn't died that night cause it was really funny.

Image

So a few days before Halloween, I'm not really sure how it came up, but somehow I agree/suggested to go trick or treating with my elder sister. Then we recruited my other sister so we had all the grandkids together (on my family's side) trick or treating.

Image

We had a fairy, knight, princess, Monkey, bug, and a ladybug.

Image

Addie was a ladybug.

Image

Image

Addie was a big trooper. Jeremy carried her around and she was totally happy the entire time. She waved to some people, just kinda stared at the others.

Image

Overall I think our first Halloween with a kid was a huge success.

Family pics of '09

We just had our family photos/addie's 9 month pictures/anniversary taken by my lovely and talented (oh and wonderful too) sister who is an amazingly talented photographer :)

We went up to little cottonwood canyon and it was so beautiful. Actually reminded me alot of NC...a little more mountainous but maybe but just gorgeous.

So here is a sample of our fun time.

If you want to see them all just email me and I can send you an invite from snapfish. To the grandparents/parents we are going to be send out our favorites as soon

Life as I know it :)

OKAY! So time for posting I suppose, but first can I just say Conference has been awesome. I prepared for it like I use to do when I was single (well maybe not EXACTLY but as close as I could with a little one following me around) not to mention I have been on my knees a little more with Jeremy being gone! So it has been exactly what I needed.

So news you ask? Well Jer came home (for like three days) and then jetted off to San Diego. He's there for a conference and he is loving it! He has to look for a car while he's there.

Huh? Oh why does he have to look for a car you ask? Oh because I got nicely rear-ended and totaled the car. Our beautiful, reliable car that was all paid off. We could have kept using it except that the trunk won't open. Oh, and one of the back doors so getting groceries with addie is REALLY a chore now. Not to mention I can't take her stroller anywhere with me (LUCKILY it was not in the trunk cause I had forgotten it that day!)

Though to be honest I feel really grateful. I was all upset about the wreck but while I was driving home I saw a really bad wreck on the road I drive every time I leave the house. Definitely one of those you-are-sure-lucky-it-wasn't-worst moments.

Plus it was a blessing in disguise. We won't have to rent a big uhaul for all our stuff. We are going to get something that can tow instead. What we are still not sure about. Though I am sure Jer has called all his family to ask opinions and such

In Addie news, she completely weened herself. I was really sad and worried at first, but when it turned to a month later and I was going dry because I was only pumping I decided to try formula. Now I am able to enjoy having my body back (Yay for me!)
Image

Also, she is sleeping through the night! I must admit that I had a lot to do with this one. She went through the night once and I thought to myself "if you can do it once you can do it again!" So I didn't get up with her and now she doesn't wake up at all.

I receive grins all the time! I swear (oh and I'm serious) that she said elephant and lion. She might have been mimicking the sounds I was making but dang, it sounded JUST like it.Image

I still can't get her to say mama, and when I do ask her I get 'dadadadada'. No Joke. But she is adorable and I so am in love with her.

All in all we are good. It is an interesting time in my life. I am finding strength, no rather endurance, I wasn't sure I had in me. But I hear the little one stirring so I am afraid this is the end of this post. I love you all!

Those pesky Watsons always moving.

I know, its hard to keep up :)

So right now, I am in Utah for a couple weeks (2-4) while jer is working in Iowa for that time. Then we will be heading ::fingers crossed:: to Asheville NC where it will hopefully be a permanent residence (more than 6 months is permanent to me ;) but it should be for at least several years)

Here is a pic of addie our last sunday in California.

Image

The umm...happy...travelers.

Image

Well there's a smile.

Image

Addie also got her very first ear infection :( But she is finally feeling better. She has been all kicks and giggles the last day or so.
Here she is at Jeff and Amber's this morning playing with the air vent. She kept crawling over it, back and forth and she would then stick her head over it. Thus her hairstyle.

Dance Party!!!

Many of my close family and friends know how much I love music and love dancing. I often turn music on (well I guess blaring comes to mind for some) and dance around. My younger brothers and sister lovingly called the occurrence DANCE PARTY!!!!! It was always a highlight. We would just wait till the parents were gone (blaring didn't suit them) and we would dance around.

I still do this now, especially when I am cleaning. Turns out it is starting to wear on the impressionable :)

She only has enough energy to go for a little bit, especially if she is standing

My favorite (which I haven't gotten on video yet) is when daddy is holding her and I turn on the music. She just starts bobbing. Its so cute!

Things my Mom taught me*

1)Jeremy- Babies go silent when they find something really good.

As many of you know we have a cat. She is a really sweet mannered cat but you must have the litter box. We have done really well of keeping addie away from it as well as her food. The other day addie got really quite. I turn around in time to see her making a b line for the cali section. She had crawled around the obstacles we had set up for her. Luckily I cut her off just in time :) (Pant, Pant)

2)Maria- Doesn't matter how many toys they have it is the simplest things that entertain them.

Ya. She's adorable. Just so you know she pulled her lip later on with the hanger and she was rather upset about it. Though she's playing with the hanger she prefers the remote and the computer.
(She also loves her toys too but only in the morning or if I am playing with her)

Image

3) Maria- Everyone needs you when you are doing something (alot of the time for yourself)

So I have taken up yoga. I need something to help me lose weight a little faster than just walking and lifting the weights that I have been doing. Of course though when ever I am doing this Cali things its time for me to pet her, addie thinks I'm a jungle gym Luckily I have started finding away to avoid this...I either do it when addie is asleep or when Jer is here (sometimes the addition of another person doesn't solve the problem.)

*Our mothers taught us alot...if we were to list them the list would be way to long :)

To be continued...

In other news, We took addie to an opthomologist an addie is a little far sighted causing her one eye to have trouble focusing. We have had to put a patch on her and do excercises with her. Here is a pic of the patch :)

Pretty much the coolest thing ever...

So as our little family has been growing where we want to end up permanently has been on our mind a lot lately. With Jer having the whole 'door to door' sales thing going on we thought this would be a perfect opportunity to check out places we would like to live.

So we have a pretty good idea of where we want to end up but we know nothing about cities or areas (excluding Asheville, NC) of each of these places. We were thinking Pacific NW, NC, and VA areas.

I have looked at a couple quizzes online about where we would like to live (you know those quizzes that you can find on facebook that only have like 4 results). But today I found a really really cool site. Find Your Spot is the best site for this I have ever found (for this subject). It broke down everything I was looking for as well as how important they were to you. I can't think of anything it left off.

If you decide to try this out just know that they ask for your name address and email address (to basically send you junk mail, that's how they make their money.

They give you 20 results and tells you facts of each place (housing, health care, transport, community, etc.)

Our top results:

1) Kent, Washington
2) Bellingham, Washington
3) Asheville, North Carolina
4) Anchorage, Alaska
5)Roanoke, Virginia
6)Hampton, Virginia

Now why I think this is so accurate you might wonder. Well because of result #3 has been on top of our list since we have started talking about where we want to be.

Anyway, I just thought it was really cool and thought I would share.

**Disclaimer: you can use a fake name address and email :)

Where are those Watson's at?

Well we are in Riverside, ca!

So I was thinking of all the places we have lived and I thought, hey wouldn't it be fun to do a running list for everyone? So here we go...

1) Dublin, CA- Our first married apartment

Image

Dublin is close to San Jose. We had most of our first moments in Dublin. I even went and visited Jeremy there while we were engaged. Jer said it was really pretty when he first got there, but by the time I came to live there everything was...well, brown (ok so im reading this and editing, 1st important point, the apartment was not brown all over when she came to visit, I did not rub the appartment with paint or poo which is how this may read. when i arrived in California it was covered with beautiful cloverfields a flourescent green all over the mountians. By the time she came however, the clover had cooked and the hills were brown.)

Fun Facts/highlights:
  • We got Cali (our cat, we named her Cali as an ode to california and she is a Calico it seemed suiting) while living there
  • Our church building was probably the prettiest of all church buildings I've seen

2) Rexburg, ID- The place we almost bought

Image

We almost bought a condo in rexburg, but we decided not to after the mortgage crisis happened. It turned out to be the right decision since we felt that we should return to BYU-I a few months later.

3) Rexburg, ID- The place where we both were sick

Image

We moved into another (which was a basement appartment, the entire lower floor of a big house, much bigger than we needed but we enjoyed the orange carpet, the extra rooms and the orange carpet) apartment in October and finished off that sememster. That winter, however, was a bad flu/virus season in rexburg, and of course we caught them. Jer even caught broncitis before we left there. Jer ended up having to pull out and I decided to drop a couple of classes. (the bronchitis became chronic bronchitis and hounded us for the rest of the year)

Fun Facts/Highlights:
  • Rexburg temple was dedicated
  • We were able to leave school early (yay for classes that allow you to end early!) and take a huge cross country road trip.

4)Silver Springs, MD- Where we found out I was pregnant...
Image

Image

Well I had suspension while we were visiting Jer's brothers before we got there. I really didn't have bad morning sickness but smells killed me. I had all types of aversions so it was hard for me to eat...I believe I lost like 14 lbs before I was able to start eating again. Silver Springs had a really cool downtown feel, however, the service industry was terrible.

Fun Facts/Highlights:
  • We were literally blocks away from D.C. (we watched fireworks from out balcony)
  • We lived on the 12th floor and there were many above us

5)Pleasant Grove, UT- Where are all the apartments?!?!?!

Image

We arrived in Pleasant Grove banking on it taking two weeks max to find a place...it didn't...took a month and a half. Jeff and Amber were so kind and let us stay with them.

Fun Facts/Highlights:
  • We have 6 siblings and there families living within an hour drive of PG and Orem

6)Orem, UT- Found one!

Image

Our Orem aptartment was great. You couldn't beat the location! 5 mins and less from shopping, school, and the hospital. Plus we had an great ward (my favorite so far)

Fun Facts/Highlights:
  • I graduated!
  • Addie was born

7)Palm Desert, CA- Best Apartment ever!!! (well so far...)

Image

Image

I was so in love with this apartment and this area. We only shared one wall/floor/ceiling with someone but for all I know, no one lived there. It was hot, really hot. I didn't go out between 11 and 3 if I could help it. Luckily it was a dry heat so I didn't feel like I was drowning (anyone who has ever lived in the south during the summer knows what I mean!)

Fun Facts/Highlights:
  • Many amazing outlet stores close by
  • 2 pools...why? I don't know
  • My favorite provided location so far

8)Riverside, CA- Where we are now

Well I just got here so its nice so far...lots of traffic. But our complex has really pretty walking paths so that nice for me and Addie.

And then there was intervention...

Oh yes boys and girls, my little girl is finally at the scooting-on-her-belly stage and I am playing intervention. Not only to I have to hide all cords, sweep like a mad woman, and get down on my hands and knees multiple times a day but I also have to make sure all surfaces that she can reach while in my arms are kept spotless because of course she must taste it! For she wouldn't be a true baby if she didn't.

Image

Of course I wasn't expecting my toes to be apart of the assault. The bright red nail polish with addie is like watching a moth to the flame. And don't forget those blinds that hang all the way to the floor, probably one of her favorite things ever. Luckily she hasn't started down the hall and discovered the bathrooms. There is only one of her so far and I have been able to play goalie well enough.

I did teach her to stick out her tongue...and I must say she has a very cute one.

6 months old!

From this

Image

To this!

Image

She can do all kind of things like sit up, crawl (more like a belly crawl), she has tried many times to pull herself up, and she is way more vocal than she was.

Sorry for the lack of actual post. Its been a little crazy cause addie started teething after I got over being sick.
