Christmas!

I am actually going to attempt to catch up on post today. We will see how it works out because after this I have at least one more post, possibly 2. But back to the fun stuff, Christmas!!!

Let's start with Christmas Eve
Image

The ceremonial baking of cookies. This year Santa asked for Chocolate Chip (Jeremy made them, first time solo cookie making. It was very impressive) and Peanut Butter Blossoms.

Both of the kid helped, Addie was super excited she got to hold the mixer.

After that we opened our Christmas eve box (Pajamas, movie, popcorn, book.) I took several photos...

Then Jeremy took some more...

Oh, I wanted to share my project this Christmas!!! It took a month to finish (mostly because of the flu) but this is addie's gift this year. It use to be an old entertainment unit. I have the doors on the 'closet' to put back on, but one of the panes had broken so I have to replace that :( But Addie loves it and plays with it all the time, so I'm sure there will be more pictures and if so I can get you more details on it later if anyone asks.

Christmas morning was so great! Addie seemed flabbergasted and Barrett was just trying to wake up. It took a minute, but they then saw the rest of the presents under the tree. (Sorry but my post doesn't want you to see the video I was going to post so I'm afraid you will have to rely on photos)

After opening up presents it was of course time for a tea party, sword fights, hot chocolate, and breakfast.

Addie's Birthday

So...my little girl turned 5. Not really sure how I feel about that right now. But as I am sorting through my conflicting emotions as a mother how about I just tell you about how we spent Addie's birthday. First we went to a Christmas party (probably doesn't sound that exciting, but there were lots of kids there and they got presents not to mention yummy food, so I think it was okay)

After mom's nap time we had cake and presents (she didn't get a lot since she had a birthday party earlier in the year.)

Then we went to Temple square to see the lights (again, you might find this lame, however, Addie has been ooooing and awwwwing about all the house lights so we thought this would be right up her alley.)

Then we walked over to the mall and let her pick out a treat. It was a hard decision.

After that we went to the fountain and watched a water/fire show thing that was really cool. The kids wanted to stay to watch more but it was getting late and I was freezing my patookis off.

We then headed home, grabbing dinner of Addie's choice (Olive Garden, noodles with chicken is her favorite) and then put everyone in bed. Good day if I don't say so myself.

The Great month of Traveling

September was on another level. It contained Barrett's birthday, a conference, a family dinner, general running around, and a weekend getaway (by the way, the great month of traveling pours over into October)

First, Barrett's birthday :D It started with shaving in the morning (Barrett has been asking to do this for some time but we figure it would make for a fun birthday thing)

Cake, of course. He asked for cupcakes so we happily obliged. He picked out this 'dirt' one (complete with a worm) himself.

And lets not forget about presents! He was really impressed with the lego airplane.

Addie too.

This was how barrett felt about his birthday.

Next, we pretty much were soaking all the last bit of heat we had in September. We had cousins over before school started back

and the park.

Oh, this was Addie and Barrett thinking they were so funny by dressing up in daddy's clothes. lol it was pretty funny.

We  hosted family dinner in September. Here is some of the good looking crowd.

They were so excited when we came out of the store and I told them they could go play in the fountain.

Jeremy won a weekend getaway with his work so we took off some time to go to park city (and played a little with each other of course) Aunt Andra was so wonderful and watched them as Jeremy and I took a nice (needed) break from everyday life.

Brannan and Melanie joined us on one of the our days and we went to the driving range and went on the alpine slide and coaster. It was so great to see them!

When we got back it was back to life.
Thankfully the kids and I get to still have fun. This is us at the park close to daddy's work (we had just had lunch with him.)

So pretty much that was our exhausting month of September as I can remember it.
