Whiner!

My entire family is on their way to Las Vegas to go shopping at the outlets and watch BYU play in the Las Vegas Bowl...and I'm sitting at my house alone, trying to make myself clean the bathrooms...

I love Little Creek...it is so beautiful. We went on a horse ride and Mom made us a yummy dutch oven dinner. We didn't see any deer, but the great company and food made up for it!

The Mighty Buff Hunt

My Dad drew out for the Buffalo hunt on the Henry Mountains this year. Everyone in the family was so excited, Jared even took off work to go down and see if he could help bring one home. It took more time than we anticipated, but Dad came home victorious. Dad and Alex even missed Thanksgiving because they were hunting...poor Jared had to hang out with the womenfolk all day:(

This is what Jared looked like when he came home...I can't even describe what he smelled like. I love you sweetie, but please take a shower.

Salt Lake Temple!

The Saturday after Thanksgiving my aunt and cousins invited me to go to the Salt Lake Temple with them to do a session. I jumped on the opportunity to spend time with them, especially since Jared was working. We had a great time together...like always...I love my family. Thanks for letting me tag along. Here are a few pics...

Weekend Fun!

One of the banks that I work with gave us tickets to the BYU basketball game on Friday night. Jared and I decided to make a date of it. He took me to Carrabba's (I LOVE that place) for a little pollo rosa maria...YUMMY...then we met up with Cec and went to the game. The seats were awesome, I love it when you can hear the players talking. BYU won...that always makes for a good day.

Jared had to work Saturday morning so Cec, Wenda and I went to the Twilight movie. We were late getting to the theater so our choices were to sit on the front row or to split up. We opted for the latter because we value our necks, and we wanted to actually see the movie. Why do they put the front row that close? It is crazy...as we were walking in the girl that took our tickets warned us that the only seats left were on the front row and that we might want to talk to the manager and see if he would give us vouchers to see it again. Yes, I tried it out and the front row IS that bad! Everyone knows that I'm a groupie and don't like to be by myself...I am happy to announce that I lived, and although I would never go to a movie by myself, it wasn't that bad. I thought that it was a fun movie...anyone who is looking for a deep plot and great character development will be disappointed...but it's still fun.

After the movie we had to run home so we wouldn't miss the kickoff of the BYU vs Utah game. We'll just say it was a sad day at the Meibos home...I'll leave it at that! We had to drown our sorrows in something and since we don't drink, Jared figured that the new Bond movie would do the trick. We honestly haven't been to a movie for a year and I went to two in one day...I couldn't believe it. By the time we got home I was all movied out! Good times!

Thanks for hanging out with us Cec...we love you! Thanks for cleaning up...you spoil me when you visit. Oh, and I polished off the pumpkin pie today...thank you for that too!

Do you bleed BLUE?

Image

Tomorrow is the BYU vs Utah game. I was talking to Wendy the other day and she reminded me that all of the statues on campus are wrapped in cellophane just in case a crazed Ute fan gets out of hand. When I was at BYU someone dumped paint all over the Y...now they even have security guards protecting Y mountain...ahh the memories. Gotta love rivalry week! Go Cougs!

Slacker!

Hello Everyone! I can't believe that it has been over a month since my last post. We've been busy the past month and I've been a naughty blogger. Thanks for the reminder Rachael and Monica:)

Jared is hunting Buffalo in the Henry Mountains with my Dad and Alex this weekend. Depending on how much shopping I do on my little girl's weekend...I should be able to update everyone on the happenings of the Meibos'. I know you are dying with anticipation...

Cousins!

Friday night we went to Logan to hang out with the Adams' and go to the BYU vs Utah State football game. I have to give a shout out to Holly and her coworker Elsbeth for getting us tickets. Thank you!!! Things are that much better when they are free. Jared, Cecilie, Alex & I had a great ride...I'm pretty sure my favorite part was when Ceci spit water all over me and the car...I still can't believe she fit that much water in her mouth. Ceci, all I have to say is...Drink Up:) After the game we all went out for some yummy pizza and more visiting. Logan is beautiful and we had a great time hanging out with everyone. Shane took the LSAT the next morning...hopefully we weren't too big of a distraction. Thanks for letting us come! We wish we could have stayed longer. Here are some pics of the crew at the game:)

Sampson????

The morning after we cut Alex's hair, Cecilie & I got a call from the emergency room. The call went a little like this, "Cheryl will you come get me? I'm pretty sure I broke my collarbone." When we got to the the ER we found Alex in a wheel chair facing the wall. The nurse had pushed him into a room and faced him toward a corner...seriously couldn't she have at least turned him around so he could look at something besides the monkey on the pediatric room wall? We were only there for a minute when they brought the x-rays in...Alex doesn't do anything halfway. The bone was pretty much shredded and poking the skin. He had surgery two days after the football accident. Here are some pics. If I have time one day I'll tell you about him coming out of the anesthesia. Good Times!

Check out that incision...we were all shocked when we saw that it was that big. I guess they have to when they put in a plate and 10 screws...charge up the DeWalt doc!

Alex Finally Got A Haircut!

Alex made a little bet last spring that he could go the entire summer without cutting his hair. It turned out that his curls were quite popular with the ladies (the old ones at least). Alex said he was growing "curls for the girls." To Mom's delight he finally cut it the other night.

First Game of the Season

We went to the BYU vs N. Iowa game a few weeks ago. We got to the stadium a little early so Jared went down onto the field during warm ups. It was fun for him to talk to some of his old football buddies. There is something about Cougar Stadium on game day...we can't get enough.

Just in case you need one more reason to love BYU football...Coach Mendenhall and the BYU football players give firesides the night before every football game. Last Friday they were speaking in Payson so Jared and I took a few of our youth. For those of you that have the opportunity to attend one of these firesides I highly recommend it. I was amazed at the musical talent and testimonies the players have. It was an inspiring Friday night...something I could use a little more often:)

My Garden!

I love this time of year. I don't think there is anything better than fresh tomatoes or cucumbers from the garden. It is so exciting to get yummy veges out of my own garden. These pics are a few weeks old, but I'm still proud of my little harvest so I had to post them.

More Lake Pictures

I swear everyone that checks my blog thinks that all we do is go to the lake...just for the record we do go to work once in awhile. I promise these will be the last for the summer...I just can't help myself.
