Ok so brand new year. I am going to be that cliche person who starts all these new things in the beginning of the year. But I now realize blogging motivates me to take pics of the fam and document what goes on in our lives and the cute crazy things my babies say. So we're back. But my goal in blogging this year is to be realistic. For me personally, a lot of these blogs can be off putting. It's like getting THAT christmas card, ya know? The " my children taught the blind to see" christmas card.
... so I'm just sayin'. just trying keep it real here people.
A lot has happened since June of 2009. We had baby #3. Jack Prescott. He is named after his great grandpa and his dad. He is huge, 17 lbs. at 4 months and is so happy. He is quick to smile and is sleeping through the night. The first 6 weeks were insane. Jonny and I kept looking at each other like "what did we do?" But now at this stage, it is getting fun. There are glimpses of "wow, this is going to be really, really fun in like 2 years"
Sawyer just turned 3 and is getting a personality. I think he might be really funny. He is pretty mellow, but in the spirit of full disclosure, I might be creating a monster. He is just so dang hard to discipline. Anytime he does something wrong he looks at me with genuine manipulation- I mean regret and says, " i sowwy mama" I mean really? The kid has no front teeth and these big blue eyes. I just can't. At this very moment I know the exact facial expression my sister will make when she reads this, I know exactly what my brothers will say, and I can just hear my mother saying, "kids crave boundaries... it will only make it easier for you..." but whatever. I now know how my mom feels about my youngest brother Colby, the admitted favorite.
Drew is 5 years old and I can hardly believe it. It makes me sad a little. But excited for her in a way. She is smart and eager to learn. She is in preschool and just loves it. When I pick her up from school she asks if she can stay longer. She is her mother's daughter (note the sarcasm). She is great with Jack, she loves to feed him his morning bottle and comforts him when he's fussy. She has a sweet heart and I LOVE watching her with him. At times it can be overwhelming, ya know, her in his face all the time. But I just have to look at it like this is her brother just as much as he is my son. She loves him and wants to nurture him and I need to appreciate that more. Her and I do mommy daughter dates and I truly enjoy her company.
So all in all we expanded and it's fun. We have our days, or weeks for that matter, but it is good.
I will post pictures as soon as I get another minute. My kids have watched enough Scooby-Doo for the morning.

Tara Whitney... Is there any other way?
So last week we had this done. The videographer is Michel Sandy and the photographer is Tara Whitney. These 2 are amazing! Michel was so cool and calm. He is so nice and also really easy to be around. The combo of these 2 is perfect and makes for a fun and natural shoot. And for Tara I cannot find enough words to describe her. She is the sweetest person ever! When you show up and meet her you automatically feel soooo comfortable with her like she has been your friend forever. I seriously LOVE her. She has an undeniable talent and is so fun and creates such a natural environment. If you are thinking about getting your FAMILY PICTURES done she is the ONLY way to go. Here is a link to our video but you must check out all of her work on her blog and website!

Strawberry Picking
Drew's preschool class took a field trip to the Strawberry Fields! How cute is that? Anyway I couldn't go because I had to work so Jonny took the kids and took these adorable pictures. They had so much fun and the strawberries were delicious!

Mini Photo Shoot
My friend Cassaundra and I took the kids to Malibu State Creek Park one evening just to take some pictures of the kiddies. Sawyer was there but not happy. It was quite the adventure for us but it was well worth it! Here is Drew running around the field in her tutu, totally natural right?
